Monique was far from iconique, but she'll be missed (by me, anyway) in terms of someone who would never back down from a fight (:eyes:) and wasn't afraid to stand up to Gizelle or her bullshit or her sidekick.

She said on her IG live that she wasn't prepared to go through another season of being gaslit, but it's a shame she essentially let the other side win.

I now sort of fear for Karen who, after a couple of strong seasons, probably couldn't survive another of being ganged up on like she was in earlier seasons. The Grande Dame must be protected at all costs.

Whew that Potomac reunion finale, I don't even know WHAT to think :D So many layered relationships between the cast, and I think as ever the truth is somewhere in the middle.

- I don't believe there was an actual plot, but there clearly were discussions. Gizelle was stupid and messy as hell for mentioning the child on camera, albeit unaired until the reunion.
- Monique and Chris were doing a bit TOO MUCH, but they would do as it's their CHILD.
- Gizelle bringing ANOTHER security guard :D
- I actually agreed with Candiace for the FIRST TIME EVER when it was the main Candiace VS Monique section. Monique dragged her physically and was never sorry about it. That's not really ok.
- My fave bit was the Robyn vs Karen EMBELLISHED HAT DRAMA :D that's the camp shit I live for from Potomac.

Definitely a legendary reunion, and one that leaves our heroes staring in the abyss of an UNCERTAIN FUTURE.
I will always stan Gizelle, but I hope she takes a moment to look at this season and realises that if she makes the same mistakes again she's basically toast. She's got away with it this season by the absolute skin of her teeth.

I think it's time for Monique to move on, at least for now. There would be no really way forward for her on the show aside from rehashing the same drama we saw at the reunion. She basically bows out as a Potomac legend now, and one the fans will always ask to return. If Candiace had ANY SENSE she'd bow out also, but we ALL KNOW she needs that cheque.

I'm hoping for a Karen vs Gizelle WAR for the next season. It feels like they've actually moved into actual ENEMY territory for the first time ever, and it would be so fun to watch.
Ashley will be pregnant next season so I can't see her being of that much use, although I can deffo see Candiace VS Ashley carrying on and possibly taking centre stage.
We may well get another round of Karen VS Wendy too just for the hell of it :D

It would be interesting if they brought in a new Housewife who is an ally for Karen, as she's looking a bit LONELY right now :eyes:

The wheels came off for Monique in the first 15 minutes of the reunion finale and did they come of FAST. Yes, Candiace's crocodile tears are annoying but Monique came out of this looking WORSE the longer the conversation went on. She should've put some points and notes into her BITCHY BINDER in preparation.

Can't wait for the rest after my Covid test :disco:

"BECAUSE YOUR HUSBAND IS A CREEP" :disco:
"DID ANYBODY TELL HER TO GO AROUND THE ROOM?" :D
ALL OF THEM WENDY-SLITHERING AT THE END :D

Yes, this Reunion was largely gold and I'm also ALL about full on Karen vs/and Gizelle next season. When these two fight/frolick, it really is Potomac at its best.

Unfortunately though I think that the downfall and departure of Monique will only embolden and Candiace and she'll be stronger than ever in S6 with a vendetta against Kurren & Ashley. Perhaps even an alliance with Wendy & the green eyed bandits.

I feel that Kurren & Ashley should form a proper alliance for once - but for that to happen Michael needs to go.

As a newbie to housewives (I am obsessed with the Australasian trio of Auckland, Sydney and Melbourne, but have ventured no further)... can the experts recommend how best to imbibe NYC?

I have followed @wurst countdown thread with glee and Ramona is an icon. Should I just start at the very beginning? It's daunting, and I'm wondering if there's a rollercoaster season to start with further in? I like the instant grat of the Australian no fucking about...

Season 3 is that rollercoaster season.

New York is pretty much ALL KILLER no FILLER except a dip during 5 and 6 and it retains a lot of cast members throughout its run so I’d just start at 1, although 7-11 is its true ZENITH.

Yeah, start with Season 1, @Halloumi - especially so you get the hang of the Luann-Ramona-Bethenny dynamics/fireworks from early on.

The Berkshire Battle wouldn’t have been what it was if it hadn’t been for Brooklyn Bridge :disco:

It really is a spectacular journey.

OMG do we have a new inductee to our coven? HI @Halloumi PLEASE DON'T LEAVE :disco:

Flattery will of course get you EVERYWHERE :disco:

Anyway, New York is quite a time commitment - if you love the Oceania shows I'd actually say watch VANCOUVER (especially season 1) before you start on the US shows. It's tonally the most similar to Auckland and Sydney and can be binged in a few days. I'd also maybe throw in the obscure and bonkers RHoWashington DC too (which fellow Housewives queen @Will got me watching a couple of months ago) and is again tonally quite similar - especially once it gets a few episodes in.

In regards to New York I'd start at season 3, the go back to watch 1&2 a bit later on. 2 is amazing but 3 is much more instant and doesn't let up at any moment. It also has the Scary Island episodes which are a reality TV ESSENTIAL!

You COULD start from season 7 which is where New York really launches into a proper all-killer home run of madness and mayhem, but you'd miss a lot of the backstory - particularly in regards to Bethenny who is essentially the show's lead character. I'd also argue New York doesn't REALLY have a weak season. Even the weaker ones (1,5 & 6 NOT 12, I love 12) are better than most other Housewives shows.

I can feel Phoenix TUTTING LOUDLY and rolling his eyes at the mere mention of ANOTHER international franchise :kim: ...but has anybody watch JERSEY yet?

I'm part way through episode 1, I think I kind of love it..? :D They are SUCH a bunch of old boilers :D
I wish they had name tags though as they really DO look rather similar, and I'm losing track of WHO is WHO.

Currently HATING the basic ass young blonde one who is clearly reading her lines off a producer auto-prompter :eyes:
Currently kind of loving HEDI who is seemingly a mix of Enya but BLONDE, a character from Nighty Night's season 2 CORNWALL RETREAT and most of Vicki Pepperdine's comedy creations :D
There's also some deep-voiced old broad who is like that woman who lived in a tree who was on Big Brother (she was called Lisa?) mixed with Baga Chipz.
Also WHO was the HOT WAITER on the beach..? :eyes:

TIME WILL TELL if it's actually worth watching, but taking it a bit OLDER was a good decision INMO (for gays who like camp old toot :D ) I give it one season.

Not even going to bother with Jersey after the worst season of Cheshire just ended. Going to catch up on Atlanta (on S10 now) and maybe head to New Jersey after that.

I've started at 7 and I do feel like I miss a lot of moments, so if you have the time I'd start from the beginning. I will probably go back and fill in my knowledge. Especially this Scary Island stuff I've heard so much about

We really should do a group REWATCH of Scary Island, you don't even really need to know the cast prior to watching the episodes as it HOOKS YOU IN with the drama of the trip pretty quickly.

And JUST when you think it's all over...

I am enjoying Jersey. The younger ones are indeed shite but I love the older eccentric ones - that’s what Housewives is about for me.

Tessa is UNBEARABLE but then so is Kate :D

I love how they all describe themselves as being "the most SUCCESSFUL in <whatever their field of work is>....ON JERSEY*" :D
The woman that has a HUIGE PORTRAIT OF HER FACE at Jersey Airport as soon as you land :D

It's definitely bringing the eccentricity and (some) unintentional camp that I want from a Housewives show, just not really sure if the UK viewers will GET BEHIND IT :D

A quick scan on Twitter seemed to say NO. Apparently they’re “TOO OLD” :D

I can totally see it being a GAY semi-CLASSIC that goes down in flames with the general public.
Although I've just gone through a section of Ashley :zombie: shrieking and Tessa going in a recording studio with her potato-daughter and my enthusiasm is WANING!

More Hedi! More Hilary Devey brown haired woman that doesn't live in a tree!

"Brooks Marks Is the Sweatsuit King of Salt Lake City" :D

"I asked Bloomquist to count the number of times Marks' name appears on the hoodie he purchased: 10 — "five on each arm."

"Call it privilege. Call it talent. No matter the label, Marks is doing the thing many stars of the show only dream of (see: Sonja Morgan New York or She By Shereé): selling units. "Brand interest has increased a lot... to say the least," he says.

The Shereé shade! You can't SELL UNITS if your collection DOESN'T EXIST!
