Melodifestivalen 2022: Deltävling 3 - Avicii Arena (again)

It's not necessarily a surprise that that would be their biggest demographic, but to be the complete reverse of the others, purely for those two songs, would be pretty unusual.
Yeah I think that is it - no surprise that she may be a bit lower, but last (and behind Linda too) is a surprise. Instinct says something went wrong here but I am sure we will never know and must take SVT at their word.

They must have been thrilled when they saw the dramatic potential in that announcement!

Has the complete mix-up of the way the votes were announced been explained?
Same as last week - whatever order creates the most tension. In this case, saving the 16-29s till last meant Faith overtook Lisa at the last moment.

1. Cazzi - a very controlled (are you reading this, Linda?) performance of an absolute bop. I am thrilled that this gets two weeks of Spotify and YouTube plays as it’s the sort of earworm that benefits from repeated plays, leaving the majority of listeners in a situation where they literally cannot get enough (although last night it turns out my taxi driver absolutely could get enough and we nearly got thrown out)

2. Faith Kakembo - a gorgeous song and visual performance, truly a masterpiece in using backing vocalists to bring through the powerful sentiment of the song. I turned to VoR immediately after and said this would go to the final, so no surprise there and I am delighted for Faith. If Anna Bergendahl gets to the final then it’s great to know there’ll be at least two acts who can provide medical assistance for any audience member who needs it (possibly VoR)

3. Lisa Miskovsky - the key change is my favourite music moment of this heat. Truly the queen of creating songs that sound like hugs, I was worried that the performance would be too busy but the whole revealed itself to be the perfect song to soundtrack a world trying to find its way out of a pandemic.

4. Anders Bagge - I think I allowed myself to be cynical because nobody likes an obvious winner, but upon rewatching this today I was very moved. This is a great Disney song and I think it would do well at Eurovision, if only because it’s great to have acts who aren’t all pretty people under the age of 21. I watched an interview with him after and in my hungover state I cried when he choked back the tears saying 20 years ago he couldn’t be in a room with more than 3 people. This from the man who wrote Gotta Tell You and Get Together by Madonna , I wonder if he wanted to be a pop star when he was younger but his agoraphobia/anxiety stopped him,

5. Linda Bengtzing - oh Linda. This started amazingly and conceptually there are a lot of great things to pull out from this performance, but ultimately she was her own undoing. Going into the audience would have been cute had it been brief, but there’s about 15 seconds where we actually LOSE her, having gone back for a SECOND TIME. The song was strong enough to have been sold in a straightforward way, so this was a real miscalculation. It’s almost like Alla Mina Sorger needed this level of shenanigans to detract from it being quite basic, and this song needed the Alla Mina Sorger performance to let the lyrics and message come through.

Having said that, I’m absolutely delighted that it beat the dirge of Lancelot (who ‘went to the toilet’ after the results and just never came back - relatable strop queen) and whatever that guitar thing was.

Bara sträcka upp en finger för I DON'T GIVE A SHIT.

It all started going wrong (or SO SO RIGHT??) when she picked up a piece of her dress to wave it manically into the camera during the first chorus. :zombie: :D

Something VERY strange happened with the 16-29 voting. Look at Lisa Miskovsky and Tribe Friday's votes!

I literally don't believe those 16-29 and 30-44 results at all to be honest. The reversal just strikes me as a statistical fuck up. They have to do this in a very very short space of time - I'd say it's more feasible they fucked it up than that those results actually happened. If I were Lisa, I'd be doing an enquiry into it.

What's unbelievable about the 30-44 ones...?

Interesting hint that we might end up getting the voting stats for every age group due to the Lisa/Tribe Friday 16-29s result backlash...

Viewers' anger - the figures that SVT refuses to show

Voting is questioned: "Scandal" • The image that is spread

MELODIFESTIVALEN

Viewers are convinced: The intermediate result was wrong.

Despite this, SVT refuses to put an end to the speculation and report the votes.

"It is obvious that they have mixed up the numbers," writes one of many Aftonbladet readers.

"The numbers are correct," says Melodifestival director Anette Brattström.

After the nerve wracking in the broadcast between who of Lisa Miskovsky , 46, and Faith Kakembo , 36, who would pinch the last final place and who had to settle for the semifinals, the viewers are now convinced that it was actually Lisa Miskovsky who went straight to the final .

Speculation that something has gone wrong in the scoring has continued well into Sunday, the day after the broadcast, in various Eurovision forums online, in tips and reader emails to Aftonbladet and also on SVT's and Melodifestivalen's own social media. There is also a picture of the end result from Wikipedia, where viewers have circled the numbers they think can not be correct.

In addition, it was one of the hottest topics of conversation among songwriters and artists and others involved in the competition at the Melodifestivalen's afterparty late on Saturday night.

"You must have mixed Lisa and Tribe Friday's points for the last jury group, must you?" and "Something must have gone wrong tonight look at the votes again please" are just a few posts written by viewers on social media.

"Something in the count must have gone wrong", and "Lisa Miskovsky led too big to lose it in the end", write some of Aftonbladet's readers.

Miskovsky suddenly got only one point

It is the age group 16-29 that has confused the viewers.

Lisa Miskovsky, who consistently got high points from all the other groups, suddenly got only one point in the last category, 16-29.

At the same time, Tribe Friday, which consistently got low points in all the other groups, suddenly got ten points, ie the second highest, in just 16-29.

So far, SVT has refused to report how many actually voted for Lisa Miskovsky and the other participants in the age category that have made viewers react. SVT also does not say how many votes have entered the respective age category.

SVT: "Presented after the final"

When Aftonbladet on Saturday night asked Anette Brattström if SVT can guarantee that the figures are correct, she replied "Yes, we can", in a text message.

The figures that viewers now demand to see are not planned for SVT until mid-March, when the final has already taken place.

"We go out with all the statistics after the final. The points awarded are based on how the votes in that particular group are distributed. Points are thus weighted ", wrote Anette Brattström in a text message on Saturday night.

When Aftonbladet asks again on Sunday, Anette Brattström insists on refusing to report the votes.

"The numbers are correct and we will present all the competitions' statistics after the final," she writes in a text message.

It's so obvious they got it wrong and Lisa M. should go DTF. They should invalid this heat and run it again, hopefully Linda will decide not to spread covid through the front row this time and will win the semi.

From Aftonbladet at the time...

Yesterday, The Poodles singer's daughter Cornelia, 16, was sawn in "Idol"

Father Jakob Samuel is very critical of how hard they go for young talents.

"It feels damn low by the jury."

"In "Idol", young people's dreams are shattered on the assembly line."

"Many also face brutal criticism from the jury."

Yesterday, Cornelia Jakobsdotter Samuelsson, 16, daughter of Poodles singer Jakob Samuel, was rejected.

"She got really nervous and it did not go so well. And the jury was so fucking mean", says Jakob to Aftonbladet.

"You are totally crazy"

In the program, she is interrupted by jury Andreas Carlsson while she sings.

"You are completely crazy", he says and smiles. Then he stops smiling.

"Unfortunately not in a good way, because I see a lot of warning bells that I recognize from before. You're not as good as you think."

**Cornelia leaves the studio.**

"After, she was very sad. The jury behaves damn low. It's a 16-year-old girl who thinks it's fun to sing. So adults sit and insult her. But "Idol" is as it is, that's one of the reasons I do not see the program."

Jakob is also critical of Cornelia getting so much TV time.

"It feels incredibly shitty. They took her aside before the show when they realized she was my daughter and highlighted it. And it certainly says in the jury's paper who she is. It undeniably feels low."

Andreas Carlsson defends the jury's actions.

"Jakob knows what the music industry looks like and what it is like to be judged in a competition like "Idol". Not everyone can be a winner and not everyone is ready to be. Cornelia was not good enough", he says.

In addition, it was one of the hottest topics of conversation among songwriters and artists and others involved in the competition at the Melodifestivalen's afterparty late on Saturday night.

We all deserve to live in this world! I want to be boring JessAn to death about voting stats whilst she tries to slip vol-au-vents into her bag.

Mildly surprised at Lisa… maybe the 16-29s really did think it was dogshit.

Meanwhile here are the semi-finalists in the latest Spotify chart:

8. Cazzi Opeia
10. Tone Sekelius
12. Theoz

I know I pay too much attention to the odds but Anders has just overtaken Cornelia as the favourite :o
