Eastenders 2023

This is too difficult to watch. When she opened her eyes and said I love you to Billy. 😭

How long have the opening titles matched whether the episode starts during night-time or daytime?

They use the nighttime version of the opening very occasionally, I recall it getting quite a bit of use around Lucy's murder and once in a blue moon since then.

The moody weather, lighting and noise was very good scene setting. Almost cinematic.

Brilliantly done episode. Even rubbish Jay wasn't bad.

I had to watch and it was every bit as devastating as I expected. When she died with Lexi cuddling in to her, and Jay coming back to find her gone followed by Julia’s Theme kicking in and the fox at the end. I genuinely loved her character.

I'm surprised Ben didn't appear tbh. I really didn't think the writers would miss the opportunity to make the whole episode about his character.

I believe the actor lost his best friend last year in very similar circumstances, so I wonder if it was a deliberate decision to get the character offside for these few episodes.

It also worked artistically though - Ben's presence would have thrown the dynamic way off.

These two new girls are annoying
Don’t they always do this? Introduce brash new characters as being one-dimensional idiots and then give them all a personality transplant within a few weeks? Remember when the Taylors first turned up as ASBO scum.

Lola's last episode was absolutely heartbreaking, it really hit hard to home after watching my nana die at home of cancer at the end of April. I can't imagine what it must be like for real life families and obviously the person themselves going through that for someone so young. Atleast my nana had lived a long life. The Julia's theme always gets to me 😭 and the fox at the end was an absolutely beautiful touch. I always liked Lola and thought she was underrated. I'll miss her, RIP LO x

Another part that really got to me was when they all did the "HELLO LOLA" thing at the window. Her face :( 😭

Eastenders is so the best soap and if Danielle doesn't win something at the soap awards i'll be seriously fuming

She won something at the Soap Awards.
Yes I see EastEnders won all four of the public-voted categories so ITV decided they weren’t having that and made sure not to give them any of the panel-voted ones.

All this talk of George's wife, it's got to be Cindy :o

100% as the nine year thing with her doing a runner coincides with Lucy dying (yes its been that long!) plus one of the daughters is called Gina (also Cindy's sisters name)

Coincidence? I don't think so!

Imagine if we had no idea Cindy was returning? This could have been huge! I remember literally bolting up off the sofa when Kathy got out that taxi in the live :D

Yeah it’s a shame that the big thing that’s happening was leaked, because just imagine if it had been a surprise.

God I'm so excited, though what if it's all been misdirection and the reveal is something else? :eyes:
