I was just reminded of this NIGHTMARE FUEL music video which was in frequent rotation on VH1 Classics in the early 90s.

MUMMY I’M SCARED! :(

Who the hell designed Charn and thought "That's a great design for a show aimed at primary school kids"?! But it's the episode before he appears (on-screen) and the Exorcist-esque head swivel that still HAUNTS ME.

Ok they’re not quite POP CULTURE but still EVIL.

Maybe I should have read the thread title properly before posting :)

This song terrified me (the circus sounding instrumental part)

I did of course grow up to realise it was the greatest movie ever made... but I should never have watched this AGED SIX.

I was literally talking about this show earlier today :disco:

Loved it, and can confirm that I was not traumatised in primary school by it either

I was very scared of both The Ring and Carrie as a kid, but I shouldn’t have watched them anyway

Stop the press, I've just remembered the ultimate. Why is it so horrible. What primal fear does it tap into to make every child of the 80s HATE IT SO MUCH?

:wownic:

Watching it now it's so bad :D

I don't know if it counts as a piece of pop culture but I accidentally killed one of The Roomies in a house fire in The Sims and I cried myself to sleep because I felt so GUILTY.

This reminds me of the rage trying to get the sims to stop THROWING UP ON MY ROADS in Theme Park and just giving in and putting loads of burger bars next to the rollercoasters and let them all ROT.

I used to be petrified of Jimmy Saville’s picture on this book as a child, but at least it all makes sense now :eyes:

I remember being obsessed with this at school. We all watched absolutely gripped.
It’s an utter disappointment watching it back as an adult.

Another famous moment to those of a certain age but my parents allowed me watch this, aged nine:
