Eastenders 2023

I like that they still have these "live" episodes in their back pocket. Give us something to look forward to.

How long has Ian been gone, yet all of a sudden they’re desperate to find him, at the same time as everyone looking into “Rose”?

Loving the fact the pool was obviously nowhere near the Iberian Peninsula.

So she went missing NINE YEARS AGO?

Lucy did die in 2014 didn't she? I'm guessing Ian is very much with her.

That Steven was QUITE FIT too. A loss.

That said, they can still bring back Peter if they want another Beale son, so at least they're running spares. It was madder to kill off Lucy, as the only daughter.

I'm more intrigued by how Ian discovered Cindy was still alive, and what made them get back together, than her disappearance from George.

From what we've learned she was clearly on some kind WITNESS PROTECTION perhaps. It's feasible Ian always knew, although how much history they'd have to rewrite to make that believable, I don't know. Maybe she reached out when Lucy died.

Yes I'm slightly disappointed that we're picking up with them in the present day, as it means we'll have to find all of that out by way of some sledgehammer exposition dialogue.

God I hope they do a flashback episode, since they're seemingly OK with that these days.

I really only need them to go back briefly to 9 years ago when she walked out on George and then to Ian showing up in 2021.

Reuniting with Ian still seems far-fetched, but I think there's likely to be an element of Cindy softening over the years, which is probably the key to a long-term return. Emmerdale has handled Kim Tate's characterisation quite well once they got over the whole "OMG she's back" hype, and not just typecast her into the same role as before.

:o Yes. Thomas Law (2006-2010).
It so odd because that was straight-laced goody two shoes Peter. Then he had a bit of a personality transplant with the last two actors. So going back to that feels odd. Could you ever imagine this Peter running naked through the square and being seduced by Suki?
