Eastenders 2023

Well I'm glad it wasn't the obvious which it seemed to be with minutes to spare, but I'm a bit :o at who (seemingly) struck the final blow

Denise going full throttle with the big bottle :disco: slay. Linda's was a weak kill honestly but Denise MEANT IT!

... Nish had better be dead

I-FUCKING-CONIC :disco:

HIGH CAMP! And a twist I am HAPPY TO SEE! The constant vague mentions of the various men dying etc, and the way it sloooowly (but not too slowly) built up- I mean come on the last 20 minutes was hold your breath stuff. 98% of it was amazing, the only stuff I found borderline filler were the Cindy & family scenes.

Best episode of all time? I mean who knows but it’s got to be up there :disco:

It was worth it!

The whole episode was fantastic. So many Xmas episodes are cutting from Xmas dinner to Xmas dinner, before a grand final last scene. But that was high end drama throughout, particularly the wedding stuff.

But obviously the final scenes in The Vic were so tense. Obviously Phil wasn't going to die, but the fake out came out of nowhere (although it had been theorised).

Obviously the fall out is likely going to last another 12 months, with an assortment of other characters getting involved (Eve, Jack, Phil the Panesaar's, Knights, Beatles... it's kinda limitless).

The only minus is that Keanu has virtually no family left to react. We're just going to get Bernie snooping around.

Still 13/10 Eastenders. Brava!

:D

It was great high drama, a bit camp and suitably soapy ridiculous, but not even close to best ever.

The twist was everything - I cannot believe they managed to slot all that in the last 2 minutes or so :D

I'm assuming Nish is absolutely not dead...

I refer you to the Max/ Stacey reveal for the greatest ever Xmas episode. But again, as I recall that was only Xmas dinners until the last 5 minutes.

yeah it was fabulous and the women served cunt but I'm not sure it was an all time classic. hardly up there with 2007 or Archie.

the "problem" with the big ones like this is the plot is doing a lot of hard work. I think I loved the previous episodes more for the character writing. I may have cried at Lola's video transposed over the Xmas eve choir in the square (:D)

Surely Albert Square is the most dangerous place in London on Xmas Day. I can't think of any off the top of my head, but surely that's one of many Xmas Day deaths.

The internet tells me:

Jamie Mitchell
Pauline Fowler (how could I forget?)
Archie Mitchell
Derek Branning
Keanu Taylor

It feels like MANY MORE.

Yes, absolutely. I forgot about the affair reveal! And the episodes that followed were incredible too.

Is this being covered up then? Is there a need? There's six of them as witnesses and everyone saw at the wedding what happened with Keanu so they'd know he'd be angry.

I guess that's why they had Linda do what she did (whilst presumably drunk) as it's less defensible than throwing the leftover toffee quality street at him, but even then...he was strangling Sharon.

And yeah, it's a bit wasted with no one to give a fuck about Keanu left. Maybe this gives Bernie purpose on her own though

But the combo of killer/victim was surprising enough so I'll take it. Hopefully Linda isn't leaving

Tiffany Mitchell died on New Years Eve.
Dennis Rickman too?
Roxy and Ronnie New Years Day?

Not Christmas technically but still FESTIVE GRIM REAPERINGS nonetheless :D

Yeah you’d go abroad or something wouldn’t you.

And Sharon would have the neck marks to back up the story. There's defo something with Linda's drinking though

There's bound to be another witness. Some of them will turn on each other, after commiting to stick together.

Although Nish is still in there and fuck knows if Dean is still in the building. Aside from all that The Vic door is still open. I fully expect Phil or Jack to be aware of it within an episode.

Seems unlikely now but I would be happy to see Nish die. Too hammy and for once I just want some happiness - let Suki and Eve live out their best

Doesn't seem to be much point for Linda to be the murderess if Dean isn't on the other side of the bar watching down the corridor/open door.

Well I sense that’s exactly what has happened, but oh my god, him having something on Linda to hold over her? Could this storyline get any more distasteful?!

Read the room producers!!!

I don't really want them to be dragging this story on till the 40th anniversary, I know there will be twists and turns but it needs to be worth it if they are going down that route

The party in the Vic so soon after tonights event is reminding me of the conga line they had coming out of the Vic when Abi Branning just fell to her death :D
I guess it serves two purposes for the Six to cover up the "murders" and have BAU in The Vic — keeps the rest of the cast and wider crew none the wiser and prevented leaks
