Love Island has had high profile suicides, hasn't it? I haven't paid close enough attention to know if other shows have or not.
I just assumed that was what @Ellie was referring to.It has had two contestant suicides I think, and Caroline Flack. I don’t see the relevance though? Do you mean it’s down to the show or the people that take part on the show as to why they committed suicide?
I just assumed that was what @Ellie was referring to.
I've never watched to know how contestants are treated to say it's the show - but perhaps there's something about the type of person who is drawn to be on it? Although again that's without ever watching to know if there is a 'type'; that's probably very simplistic.
Like @GNL said earlier, it must be odd to go on a show where you are loved, and then to go on one where you're hated. And without wanting to be too 'blame it on the edit', there will be a degree of that at play. I'm sure there will be some Love Island footage which wasn't as favourable to her, and some CBB which would be more favourable to her which never made the show just because it wasn't interesting or didn't fit a narrative. To the person though, they may consider they haven't essentially presented themselves very differently. It is a particular type of person that goes on to the show I would say. Young, hot, and full of themselves. From the same ilk who do TOWIE, Made in Chelsea, Geordie Shore, Ex on the Beach… the list is pretty endless.

And I think it must be even harder for these reality shows which aren't skill or talent based - it all comes down to personality. On X Factor, being voted off for not being a strong enough singer might sting, but it doesn't it doesn't speak to who you are. But on some other shows, aren't you essentially voted off, or public opinion shaped just because people don't like YOU?
Of course it doesn't fall on Love Island now, no.I totally get that but surely that is up to her PR team to advise her not to do that or CBB’s team who would have done a mental assessment to make sure she was in sound mind to go in? It doesn’t fall on Love Island? She was loved after that, so I don’t think that is the problem at play hence why I said I don’t think it’s solely a Love Island contestant thing and stand by it.
