UK General Election 2024 - July 4th

How are you likely to vote?

  • Total voters

Voting later. Despite a history of famously bad political decisions, I feel optimistic I might be able to get this one right.

I spoke to about 4 different men when I went to vote but none of them questioned me :( ours is in an church.

Voted! The reform candidate’s address was in DERBYSHIRE. Could they really not find a remotely local racist?

Voted (in hope that the local Green twink gets his deposit back).

Ooh it's that day

On the apathy discussion I can see why people act that way. We "basically" have a two party system with a choice between two very similar parties, I could see why people feel like there's no point caring any more. I think the ideal if one doesn't want to vote for one of the biggies and it's a safe seat to at least spoil the ballot paper as that at least expresses dissatisfaction with the system.

I prefer this to the "lol protest vote" that a friend is likely to do (for Reform unfortunately. He's often frustrated in life and easily led by "man with a pint of beer says fuck it let's do something drastic"). As was mentioned, it seems those who are fairly politically ignorant are easily swayed by populism.

Still not sure myself whether to "waste" the vote on Green, or hold my nose and vote Labour. Probably a last minute "fuck it" choice either way.

Mine looks sort of nice on the outside as I think it was part of the church Nextdoor and got refurbished. Inside it feels like a primary school.

I deflected to Lib Dem in the end. Not impressed with Labour in my area and the council are absolutely useless. My MP hasn’t even done any campaigning because it’s such a safe seat and he’s completely contradictory in what he says and does.

Looking at the profile for our Lib Dem candidate also showed that the one local counsellor who did actually give us some help with local issues, has now deflected from Labour to Lib Dem himself.

Loving Jezza’s COLOUR PALETTE here, especially topped off with the Bottega-esque WOVEN SANDALS.

I was the only voter at my polling station. I’ve never seen it so quiet.

My polling station is a primary school next to an Orange Lodge. Glasgow, eh?

Huge polling station envy that's all I'm getting from this thread right now. Mines a meer HALL for a rugby club but not even pictorial evidence of said rugby players hanging up or anything.

I've gone GREEN for the first time

Having finally escaped from the evil Wycombe constituency, I no longer need to vote tactically against "hardman" Steve Baker

I'm instead in a solidly Labour constituency where I can vote freely without blue fear, and I don't have to endorse the pandering and complacency of Starmer.

I will still be watching the coverage primarily for the Baker defeat moment

I've just worked out where my Labour candidate lives from her clip she posted on Twitter. I wondered why there were QUITE SO MANY posters and signs for her on that particular street.

Hard to believe if/ when she wins she'll be our first ever female MP(!)

Well I'm off to get my foof waxed and then vote afterwards. Remove my pubes and then the Tories :disco:

My polling station is the church hall of this church.
