Dissenting justice: 'President is now a king above the law'

Justice Sonia Sotomayor, joined by Justices Elena Kagan and Ketanji Brown Jackson, dissented the opinion.

Justice Sotomayor called the consequences of the court's decision "stark" and said the court's decision allows a president to use official powers to be insulated from criminal prosecution.

"Today's decision to grant former Presidents criminal immunity reshapes the institution of the presidency," she wrote.

Justice Sotomayor said a president would now be protected if they order the Navy's Seal Team 6 to assassinate a political rival, organise a military dissenting coup to hold onto power, or take bribes in exchange for a pardon.

"Even if these nightmare scenarios never play out, and I pray they never do, the damage has been done," she wrote.

Won't actually go anywhere of course but at least a few Democrats with a pulse will try to make political hay out of this while the Bidens are doing magazine photoshoots and getting ice cream to reward Joe because he remained awake for an entire hour.

Fucking hell Biden MOVE ALONG!

Imagine ruining a legacy built out of getting rid of Trump, by letting the man back in…

Nothing but the INTERVAL ACT!

Infuriating old cunt

His attempts at damage control are actually making it worse. Trying flex about being 'defiant' and 'not going anywhere' is too little too late. He should've gone on the offensive and reminded everyone that Trump/Project 2025/Agenda 47 are who need to be answering questions.

Also, it needs to be said that if Trump is elected he (and probably the Republican Party) will most likely try to pull a 3rd term. They're already planning to unitize executive power and they'll cite FDR's 4 terms etc etc

Trump announces his Veep candidate this evening. No doubt they'll be very hinged.

If this piece of human dog shit becomes President one day, he'll be the first, younger than me.
