One of my biggest disappointments. He's generally appeared to be a nice guy (or the couple of times I've met/ seen him at athletics events, he seems to be) but he's gone VERY TERFy. And not from the "it's complicated, women's sport needs to be protected" angle, but full on. Sad, but not a massive surprise.

I don't think that's fair on a number of levels. Firstly, fuck off with "past it" when you're talking about someone who has achieved what he has, that's just ageist bollocks. And there are a number of athletes who want an intelligent debate on the matter and don't just see it as "TRANS PEOPLE ARE ALL EVIL".

But agreed, Daley isn't one of them.

I kind of want to defend that. I already made a post based on your tag where I said he was a cunt (though not using that word), but I just don't think we can generalise "all past it (ugh) athletes are cunts". THAT was the point. It actually wasn't about him AT ALL and I even said as much.
 
What would your preferred insult be for someone that has aged out of their primary career and so has instead turned to BIGOTRY to support them to the grave?
 
In terms of generalisation, it is an apparent to non fans that there's several big name 80s/90s athletes that are full on loony TERFS. I concede that the sports debate is trickier, but still an athlete past their prime can, even without being insulting, be called PAST IT.

Again, "past it" was used for a group of athletes in the original post, which I still disagree with.

Former athlete seems to do it alright, but don't let GENERIC NON-PEJORATIVE ENGLISH trouble you when it doesn't agree with your WORLD VIEW. :)

Course there are and I've been one of the first to call them out about it. It shouldn't make EVERYONE of that nature tarred with the same label and "Past it" is, without doubt, insulting.

Nothing of note really happened except finding out who has what powers - but I am REALLY enjoying the cast. Every single one of them.
 
Oh man! I want him to stay and show off his bigotry. I miss the days of letting it play out and seeing the reality of what real people think (we’d never have had Shilpa as a winner if everyone had just been booted out straight away).
