The Wendy Williams Thread

So this is also from a documenatary or special that I've not watched. She's being interviewed here. It's absolutely terrifying. The woman has been named and I truly hope she goes behind bars for this. It's inhumane and to quote Cher in The Witches of Eastwick (1987), morally reprehensible.
 
I don’t understand. How can someone of her status end up locked up in a facility if she was able to live normally and safely on her own? I am totally baffled by this.
 
This baffles me more and more each time I read something new about it. How can she be deemed as mentally competent, and as having full cognitive function if she has dementia and aphasia? They are now trying to say she doesn’t? Who the hell diagnosed her? :confused:

I’m pretty sure it was documented somewhere in this thread that the type of dementia or equivalent that she had is often temporary and can be caused by external factors such as alcoholism and if treated can improve

It sounds like she was put under conservatism while sick, and nobody considered the fact that she might get better once under conservatism and therefore might realise that she doesn’t need help anymore.

Maybe they tried to enforce it by arguing that without strict care she would relapse. Which is not dissimilar to the case made about Britney if I’m not mistaken. Different diagnoses but similar circumstances. Possibly. I haven’t really followed it
 
Oh god, if she can be back, out and happy I'd be overjoyed. On a selfish level, if she's up to it then even better to have her back on screen.

She really shouldn't have to prove anything to be out of this imprisonment. The person doing to this to her should be behind bars.

That definitely makes sense if it was alcohol related dementia. I had no idea she was an alcoholic.
 
Umm, she wants out, it's clear cut. Relent, you parasitic cretin.

And the legal role should be to provide care, for the best interests of Wendy. This is not happening.

But also yay for Wendy finally being free of this shit! I hope she can get on with her life again and cut out the toxic ones! If she ever did make a return to tv or that podcast that she had been talking about I’d be so there.

Is this eating in to the whole Wendy knows things conspiracy theories? I do honestly agree that she should not be holed up somewhere that she can not get out of without guardianship BUT clearly something isn’t right and she has not been put there for no reason. Yes, she possibly had alcohol related dementia coupled with aphasia but something isn’t right here, SURELY?
 
It’s difficult as she does seem to know what’s going on so certainly should not be locked up. I think the constant “You know” may well be because she is nervous talking to The View. It sounds like she is in an old folks home.
 
The needing another guardian was kind of an omission of sorts. She does clarify to then say a new one is needed before doing away with it completely. There just should be no reason Wendy and her family aren't the ones any decisions are made with, for and around. All decisions should be centred around Wendy, what she wants and who she is. The statement from the guardian is absolutely grotesque: technically the family is able to be in contact with Wendy, but under conditions that have clearly caused distress for them all, which is the main reason this guardian is not a justified benefactor of Wendy's money. To provide care for someone is absolutely not what is happening here - Wendy and her family are needlessly suffering here because of a loophole opportunist.
