Eurovision 2025: Basel (17 May) (1 Viewer)

Georgia randomly leaking what is presumably their postcard was not on my bingo card :D

Preparty season starts tonight, so presumably we'll start to hear reports of who can actually sing live and who might be headed for a car crash.

Really intrigued to see if JJ can pull off Wasted Love live.

I do hope we get at least one total train wreck. I still have fond memories of when we collectively realised where this one was heading... :D

Compared to last year

1.(NE) Switzerland
2.(3) Germany
3.(2) United Kingdom
4.(NE) France
5.(8) Spain
6.(6) Netherlands
7.(5) United States
8.(7) Australia
9.(NE) Austria
10.(NE) Italy

Last year Sweden were #1, Denmark #4, Ireland #9 and Finland #10.

I loved the postcard theme music as well, I can just listen to it on a loop.

Yes, the serif font this year really is FUCKING DISGUSTING. Looks so cheap and Windows 95. My designer friends try to tell me it's back in, as if that's an argument when MULLETS AND TRANSPHOBIA are TOO!

It still makes me yelp that they were all over each other's Instas for the fortnight after, until Gjon went to Spain - after which, NEVER AGAIN :D

I'm still not convinced by the weird arch:

OT: But I can't remember the last time I was LESS invested in a Eurovision. I went through a brief stage of not paying TOO MUCH MIND, but by this point I always had a few songs I was hammering. I haven't even played them all this year.

I'm hoping that will mean an INTERESTING AND NICE SURPRISE come May.

Does she have a connection to Switzerland?

They're doing themes for the Semi Finals this year apparently, so unless she's secretly Swiss, I would assume she's part of some kind of 'fan favourites' medley, most likely in the second Semi Final.

  • Semi-Final 1: Where It All Began – an homage to the Eurovision Song Contest’s birthplace, Switzerland
  • Semi-Final 2: Eurovision fans – a big party for anyone who’s ever enjoyed the Eurovision Song Contest
  • Grand Final: Let’s Celebrate a New Winner – 26 countries will compete for the coveted glass trophy and the whole of Europe and beyond will be joining in on the excitement and celebrations
