Lorde - “What Was That” + Album #4 (3 Viewers)

The whole thing is just… there.

Not really worthy of getting the spotlight on NMF if you ask me.

It’s fine, and I continue to root for her, but I do miss the Lorde who made gorgeous songs like Team and Writer in the Dark instead of wanging on about how cool it is to be filthy rich and stoned all day.

That’s pretty good, especially for a Thursday.

Green Light was a hit but did seem quite frontloaded, so will be interesting to see how this holds.

The US streams are rather surprising- she hasn’t had a major hit here since “Team”. “Green Light” had a decent first week but came and went after less than 10 weeks. “Solar Power” only charted for 1 week.

Not much, but Girl So Confusing was probably the ideal boost for her profile. And Melodrama has stayed powerful on the streams.

The power of the Washington Square Park promo!

Fuck my hat, now THAT'S an album cover. It's almost a logical extension of the last one, given that we were only a sunbeam away from the outside.

That is a surprise. Has she been doing much in the social media world between albums?

Both her (and Haim) are working with Charli’s longtime creative and marketing BFF in terms of promotion.

The Washington Square appearance very much followed the Brat “make it feel like an unmissable event” approach.

I kinda love it. I assumed it was for another single but as an album cover, that's immense.
