I'm not sure we can really justify denying someone's request for deletion, for whatever reason, if that's what they really want. Since I've been around we've done it at least twice before so the precedent has been set too.Have we always acceded to deletion demands? They are more annoying for us than the person leaving.
In the absence of a serious and serious urgent reason for deletion, can’t we just do whatever’s happened to Beverley (perhaps for six months) in case the person changes their mind?
I'm not against a six month cooling off period though, but would be keen to hear other viewpoints. One practical problem with it is that I don't believe it would be possible to automate it, so an admin would have to remember and manually delete an account after those six months,
