Congratulations Dr. Geru Hallwell

I wonder what she's going to cover :disco: I hope it's going to be more of an It's Raining Men than I Want Candy :D

Maybe she will wheel out

It's HAPPENING!

From Dean Piper from Sunday Mirror

News broke about Geri Halliwell making a solo music comeback recently. And the Spice Girl tells me she can’t wait to get back into the pop charts and have another crack at pop glory. Ginger Spice said: “I’m really excited and I’ve been thinking about it for a long time and things feel right. I was always going to continue with music in some way. I’ve been in the studio and it’s going to have a bit of a dance feel to it. I love to dance and hear this type of upbeat music in clubs, it’s all going really well. I was proud of all of my solo music and this is just the next chapter. It’s time to get back into the charts again.”
I’m under the firm belief that Geri needs a chance. And let’s not forget she did have four huge number one hits since leaving the girl group in 1998. Look At Me, Mi Chico Latino, Lift Me Up and Bag It Up were all biggies. So why not more?!

if 2011 could somehow yield albums from both Nicola Roberts and Geri Halliwell then i would be very happy indeed.

Although i think i'd enjoy them both for very different reasons. And Geru's had better have a bat-shit documentary accompaniment, complete with anecdotes about when her stepdad went in the toilets after watching her at G-A-Y and there were all men doing things with each other.

Well, this will clearly stall at #66 or something but still :disco:

Also - are the rumours of this being self-funded true, or does she have an actual record deal? I smell a whiff of Nadine....

Dame Geru returning to her thespian routes this Christmas..

NINE (and a HALF)

That article by Dean Piper is wrong - Look At Me wasn't #1

It's Raining Men was #1 in OH ONE

The only Spice top 5s since are:

Take My Breath Away
Free Me
This Groove/Let Your Head Go
Ride It
Downtown

Could this be the year Geru unleashes her FROZEN, or even her BELIEVE? :disco:

Geru is planning to cover THIS,

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/eyHHSVO6oTM?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/eyHHSVO6oTM?fs=1&amp;hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

and also recreate the video. The only difference is the chorus will be slightly altered to:

'The charts are no good without me baby, the charts are no good at all'...

Geri 'responsible for Lady Gaga' :disco:

I wonder if she is still close to the other Spice Girls, if she still even thinks much about those days. ‘They’re like family members to me. It’s one of those things that I don’t see them all the time but when I do, it feels like yesterday and we go back to our original roles. It’s quite funny.’ They’ve all turned out pretty well. ‘None of us has shaved our heads and ended up in rehab.’
I wonder too why she bothers to do things like be a judge on The X Factor, or design and model clothes for Next. She has enough money to never work again. ‘I am naturally, authentically, a creative person. I love painting with my daughter – we have creative sessions! That’s just who I am. In the band, I’d be in the studio writing lyrics, Victoria would be out shopping for Prada shoes. She’s always loved high-end fashion. I’m incredibly proud of her.’ Will she make another record? ‘Maybe! I’m passionate about music and I’ll always be involved in the business – I’m managing a band that you’ll see at some point. It’s very exciting. I’m a mummy, I like to nurture…’
I remind her of the documentary she made as she left the Spice Girls. That shot of her sitting on the stairs of her mansion in the country, looking afraid and alone, apart from the presence of Harry, her shih-tzu. ‘God, yes, I remember that. No, I don’t have that house any more. It’s quite hard to be objective about that time, but I’m definitely in a different place to where I was. Actually, I think I feel in certain ways I’m doing full circle. I went to see Lady Gaga in concert, and we saw each other backstage and it was really nice because there wasn’t anybody else around, and she said, “You know, Geri, you really inspired me, I really tuned in to what you stood for.” I am that girl again, the girl I was at the beginning.’

Geri Halliwell has revealed she wants to return to the music scene.

The singer, whose post Spice Girl ventures have included penning children's books and designing a beachwear range, said being a guest judge on The X Factor tempted her to go back to her roots.

Asked whether she would be returning, she told Easy Living magazine: "Oh yes, although I've never left music. I'm always writing lyrics and songs. I will be returning to music. Definitely."

Quizzed on whether she would come back as a solo artist, she said: "I think we've (the Spice Girls) already done the reunion."

Ginger Spice also spoke about her boyfriend, Henry Beckwith, in the magazine interview saying: "Oh my God, he's such a posh gent, it's funny. I like that in a man, it feels strong and stable."

The former chart-topper has followed in the fashion footsteps of her ex-bandmate Victoria Beckham by creating a beachwear range for Next.

She said: "I actually didn't ask her advice on this one. Victoria's doing very high-end, high-fashion, and what she's done is brilliant. But she's always been like that.

"I remember when I was in the studio writing the lyrics for Who Do You Think You Are, and Victoria had been out shopping, and had gone missing for hours.

"She came in and she showed me these Manolo Blahnik shoes - and I didn't know they were designer. I didn't really know what designer was."

What a dismal attempt to turn such a backhanded insult into some kind of praise :D I love it.
