They won best serial drama, what a night for them! I think EastEnders is officially BACK :disco:

It feels like it’s just all going off at the moment. Three weeks in a row of big plots coming to a head and then next week we have Kat and Phil’s wedding too.

I know they can’t possibly be gearing up to Christmas this early on but it feels like the show has such momentum right now.

I saw on This Morning that he was always going to leave at this point and there was no falling out like the papers said, he is loved by the cast and crew etc.
 
I enjoyed that ending - I was dreading Alfie doing a BIG REVEAL at the wedding and they seem to have swerved that, though I suppose they could easily have their cake and eat it if either Keanu or Emma show up tomorrow :eyes:
 
What do we think about Jay and this Lola lookalike escort girl? I have a feeling Emma is involved somehow, maybe hiring this girl to get closer to Jay to discredit him (to help Emma's case if she tries to get custody of Lexi).

Reminded me of a similar storyline in Coronation Street with Daniel after his wife died.

Yes I’m intrigued as I genuinely can’t call how tomorrow is going to go now.

It does seem like the last couple of weeks have been building to them calling time on Kat and Phil which will be a shame in my opinion as I think they’ve been unexpectedly brilliant together.

The scenes today made me think Jay is imagining her. Not least because I'm pretty sure she was wearing something Lola has worn in the past; it looked very familiar. The way the camera zoomed out and Jay was sitting alone made me think he could have been talking to himself, and nobody would really notice.

I didn't see the initial scenes where they met, though, so something might already have happened that entirely debunks that theory.
 
That's a possibility! Where was he when he slept at her place though, a hotel maybe? :o
 
You're right that there's never been any other characters in scenes with her...
 
I thought we were just going to get a storyline where Jay starts paying for the company of some Lola lookalike.

Some kind of psychosis storyline would be pretty interesting, especially told in this way, but I’m not totally convinced yet.
 
Like, why would his imagination conjure up her being an escort named Nadine??
 
Really enjoyed the Beale stuff tonight.

The Kat and Phil stuff was frustrating though as it’s so clear their days are numbered and we’re heading for a reunion with Alfie but it now looks like they’re going to really string it out.

It does seem that way, but they also appear to be reintroducing the possible notion of Alfie and Linda? It felt weird the way he came on quite strong immediately after Mick “died”, but it’s approaching a year and seems like possibly the right time…?
 
Some of the lines last night were great:

Martin: “Sometimes life will find a way”
Sonia: “Are you quoting Jurassic Park to make a joke about my age?”

Also loving feisty Cindy this week! Although somehow I doubt she’s entitled to the money from the bar. If George had sold it years ago she wouldn’t have a leg to stand on.
