Since 1984.

Quickly, name three countries whose entries you generally like
France, Spain, Italy

Carola or Amina - which do you wish had won?
Amina, of course

Do you know who Lotta Engberg is?

What is your favourite winning song of the...

My Number One - Helena Paparizou

...1990s?
Nocturne - Secret Garden

...1980s?
Si La Vie Est Cadeau - Corinne Hermès

Après toi - Vicky Leandros

...1960s?
Un premier amour - Isabelle Aubret

Can you sing any of the winning songs from the 1950s?
The French entry from 1958, it's lovely.

If you had a Eurovision song played at your funeral, which would it be?
Kärleken är - Jill Johnsson

Is CatCat's Bye Bye Baby the greatest Finnish song ever?
No, it's La Dolce Vita.

Which is your favourite nil points entry ever? (You can pick Pierro and the Music Stars, Little My)

What is the most played Eurovision tune on your computer/mp3 player?
Bandido - Azúcar Moreno

Am I the only person in the forum who recognises the amazingness of 'Poupee'?

And hello Larsie :)

In which country do you live?
Belgium

How many years have you been watching the Eurovision Song Contest
First one I consciously remember was with Clouseau entering in 1991. I think '92 to '94 were off-years, but pretty loyal ever since!

Quickly, name three countries whose entries you generally like
Sweden, Netherlands, Ukraine

Carola or Amina - which do you wish had won?
Amina - it's the more endurable song. And would have made Charlotte 1999 - 25 years after ABBA, 15 after "Diggi-Loo..." - more symbolic :geek:

Do you know who Lotta Engberg is?
Svenska entrant for (Brussels!) 1987, whom EBU forced to change "Coca cola" to "Boogaloo" or something in her lyrics

What is your favourite winning song of the...

...2000s?
"My Number One"

...1990s?
"Nocturne"

...1980s?
"J'aime la vie"
blegiam.gif

...1970s?
"Tu te reconnaîtras"

...1960s?
"Poupée de cire, poupée de son"

Can you sing any of the winning songs from the 1950s?
Yes! Both "'n Beetje" and "Net als toen" are on my MP3 player, and are really quite catchy to a Dutch-speaker (though I can easily see why they're not to anyone else).

If you had a Eurovision song played at your funeral, which would it be?
"Lejla" seems the most appropriate purely going on the mood

Is CatCat's Bye Bye Baby the greatest Finnish song ever?
I'm not fully au fait with their entire history, but certainly of the ones I actively know, yes

Which is your favourite nil points entry ever? (You can pick Pierro and the Music Stars, Little My)
Remedios!

Poupee? More like Poopy, it's a crock of shouty shite I'm afraid.

It's not about the vocal on the track, it's about the SONG, which is decades ahead of its time.

Good post idea Madison. But I haven't lost weight since joining Moopy, unless VoR's dancing making me projectile vomit counts?

In which country do you live?
United Kingdom

How many years have you been watching the Eurovision Song Contest
I saw the second half of 1998, so ten years.

Quickly, name three countries whose entries you generally like
Iceland, Slovenia, Sweden. All of whom are in my top 3 this year!

Carola or Amina - which do you wish had won?
I'm not amazed by either of them to be honest. I'll go for Carola though, she doesn't sound like a cat being strangled (or not in Fangad anyway).

Do you know who Lotta Engberg is?
100% sure.

What is your favourite winning song of the...

...2000s?

Ruslana - Wild Dances (2004)

...1990s?
Tough one between 98 and 99, at the moment I'd say Charlotte Nilsson - Take Me To Your Heaven (1999)

...1980s?
Controversial choice: Corinne Hermes - Si La Vie Est Cadeau (1983)

...1970s?
Anne-Marie David - Tu Te Reconnaitras (1973)

...1960s?
More controversy: Massiel - La La La (1968)

Can you sing any of the winning songs from the 1950s?
Nope.

If you had a Eurovision song played at your funeral, which would it be?
Tough one. I'm drawn to 'Let's Get Happy', but instead I'll go for 'I Can't Live Without Music' by Corinna May.

Is CatCat's Bye Bye Baby the greatest Finnish song ever?
It's between that and Yamma Yamma. But yes.

Which is your favourite nil points entry ever? (You can pick Pierro and the Music Stars, Little My)
OPERA. OPERA. OPERA. OPERA. OPERA.

What is the most played Eurovision tune on your computer/mp3 player?
Selma - If I Had Your Love

It's not about the vocal on the track, it's about the SONG, which is decades ahead of its time.

Not all of us were alive when it was first performed, that makes it harder to appreciate if it was ahead of its time of not.

I cannot do this right now. You'll get the all inportant apoca-information in a week or so.

You forgot to ask about everyone's all-time favourite Eurovision song. But that's probably worth a thread in itself...

You forgot to ask about everyone's all-time favourite Eurovision song. But that's probably worth a thread in itself...

I didn't forget - that's a ridiculously difficult question for a quick questionaire.

Pah, in the Eurovision forum, Scotland definitely isn't a country.

When was the last time a corrected your grammar?!

It was more 'I know you like the finer points of grammatical correctness' and it was in your thread so I thought I'd make the effort. :)

Another one openly admits there preference for 'Molitva'. THE WORLD HAS GONE MAD.

I love Molitva. It's probably my third favourite winner this decade, after 2004 and 2003.

Molitva is a really nice ballad. I prefer My Number One, but I don't think there's any shame in liking it.

Frankly I'm pleasantly surprised Little My didn't go for Fly On The Wings Of Love...

Off the top of my head I can only recall that Finnish bloke and Jemini. There tends to be a reason I don't know the songs that get 0 points. Although didn't Ireland get no points last year? I LIKED THAT ONE
