Friday blows a hoolie

The one disadvantage of living slap bang on the sea high up is that you get BATTERED by the weather, which is lovely a lot of the time but can be a RIGHT ROYAL PAIN IN THE CUNT when it’s windy and you’re woken up at 1am and that’s basically IT sleep wise.

Our building is shaking, but thankfully that didn't wake me up

It sounds wild outside here. My flight is still scheduled on time so hopefully stays that way.

I’m in Glasgow so we got the alert on our phones yesterday afternoon just saying not to travel and then everyone went fucking mental clearing out the shelves in Lidl. It’s going to die down by 5pm today!

Yer, I popped into Sainsburys on my way home yesterday and it was queued out like Christmas Eve. Calm it down to a riot folks.

OT: I like this thread title as I blew (someone in ) a hoodie last night at the Sheena Memorial Cruising Ground, so CLOSE ENOUGH :disco:

I've just woken up after sleeping right through. I assume it can't have been that bad at all here.

It wasn't RIDICULOUS here, just fairly windy. It's died down to about 18mph now.

62mph here right now, and peaking at 70 later. I don’t think we are meant to get hit with the worst of it though. 104 mph was clocked back home early this morning. 😬

I've managed to RUGBY TACKLE the cold sore I had starting before it could take off and really get going :disco:

Mad winds woke me up all night and a massive branch has fell off the tree at work, further down the road is blocked due to a fallen tree so it's nice and quiet as there's no traffic.

Most amusing sight on the drive to work was the local litterpicker still picking up litter as empty crisp packets, carrier bags and other windswept detritus swirled around his head. Talk about fighting a losing battle.

The joys of alcohol

Ha, I'm a good sleeper without sedatives, in fact I'd say it makes me sleep worse.

I can sleep through alarms, have conversations with people asleep and have slept through a house being burgled and the police coming to investigate, all in the room directly above my bed.

Its one of many reasons I can't be employed.

It was a live feed of planes landing at heathrow, though sadly has already ended. Last big storm the feed caught some quite scary landings that were a great watch
I saw the landing. I just didn’t know you were that much of a GEEK.

Oh God, yesterday’s long trip broke me. After an Aperol Spritz and two Bloody Marys last night, I was completely wasted.

It was actually 114 mph gusts. 😳

Right, I need to play 'who am I' with a bunch of teenage girls, give me suggestions of characters I.e Queen Elizabeth, Beyonce etc. My brain is dead!

It's 36 degrees in Mendoza, it's been 35-36 degrees for the last few days. And whilst I don't wish to be in the UK weather, I do wish it would cool down slightly here.

But fyi, Mendoza is beautiful. Much nicer than Buenos Aires in my opinion.

It's quite lovely here now. I'm going out for a stroll without a jacket. Time to show the Christmas knitwear off.

Mind you, we're in a valley. Just climbed the hill and it's a little different. Still sunny and mild, though.

Although it's bright outside, we've been paid and we're off to a Nepalese restaurant this evening for our monthly night out.

Also popping out for "some" drinks tomorrow with some friends.

So I have little to complain about.

Great, but I'd still rather have brown leaves over NOTHING.
It isn't nothing here. I've got lots of daffodils in bulb in the little corner of my front garden which is well sheltered.

Think I may buy a few bunches as well. I can't think of many things that give as good £/joy ratio as a £1 bunch of daffodils.

Mendoza is nice. I spent about 10 days there, although i mostly remember drinking wine.

I've been a lot of wine drinking! We visited Cañon del Atuel yesterday and next week we're on an Andes mountain tour.

The drive yesterday was mostly through desert, it was so hot and long. But interesting.

Wine tour is also on the list!

Oh yes my house is full of £1 daffs
