:D

I did find on certain songs that my basic portable speaker sounded shit (it's a JBL and usually capable of decent sound). haven't tried on my Marshall at home yet BUT it does sound quite a bit clearer on my in-ears.

I do think it's just not mastered that cleanly in general though

I was playing the FLAC files through my normal set-up. If that's the album's sound then, OK, fine, I'll get used to it.

At this rate it's going to match or slightly better Disco's opening week.

Fab sales. #7 on the streaming chart midweeks too, so she is at least having a decent showing there. Album tracks streams will no doubt decrease quickly, but may soften her next few weeks once physicals drop off.

THANKS JARK!

Thought someone would have posted them earlier but better late than never.

Jark and Eddie are really living up to the album title this week. :disco:

Anyway this album is just pure euphoria throughout.

Shame that title was already taken by the equally likeable, talented and successful Claire Richards a few weeks ago.

:D

sorry I don't REFRESH THIS THREAD ALL DAY, I was busy being torn a new one by JUST IMAGINE in the park when Eddie posted that!

Me bopping to "10 out of 10" before realizing i'm bopping to 10/10 - are we not allowed to like it?

How can tension go from 44k yesterday to 30k today?

Great to see LY over half a million now. Great for the other three as well given the market these days.

I would like her to get in the studio and just throw out a random EP or two, no physicals. probably BMG wouldn't allow it but the cycle of an album every 2-3 years feels restrictive if she's in a creative mood.

a tear or two during the perf of Story (AMAZING VOCALS!) at the Royal Albert show last night

sales slowing down a lot - 46,935 as of today

It is, but it seems unclear on which variants have not yet been counted etc. She will end up 52k+ which is a fantastic result, but potential to go higher.

OBVIOUSLY I'M NOT CALLING IT A FLOP OR ANYTHING, but I can't help feeling slightly underwhelmed if it ends up with 52k (crucially less than 'Disco'), given the increased number of variants, the success of Padam Padam, how it has been reviewed, and how far ahead it was of Disco initially - although I think I read on Say Hey that that was misreported at first.

That said, that's without considering the state of the album market today compared to 2020, which I haven't paid close attention to.

And regardless of anything else, I'm guessing very few albums have shifted 50k+ in a week this year (assuming she does clear that), which is as relevant a comparison as any.

I'm a bit embarrassed that I predicted 70k+. I got caught up in people speculating big things on SH - but I suppose a relatively successful lead single doesn't guarantee the same things for its parent album that it once would have.

I think it IS somewhat disappointing - if anything you would hope for an increase (whatever that may be) on the last album.

I was thinking just this today in the gym.

It feels like it should be a lot bigger than Disco. And with the ridiculous multiformatting, there has to be a significant amount less people actually owning/ having played it.

I wonder if it would have done better if it had come out just after Padam Padam, or whilst that was riding high.
