Kylie - Tension (Album XVI)

I think these shows will be a stopgap (and to serve Tension) before a new album comes out, possibly at the end of the year.
 
I think she’s recording music now with the explicit aim to tour it, yes and that’s probably in the form of a new album. They likely already have slots booked in for next year. We will probably still get a Tension repack in the summer to coincide with the festival dates though and maybe even a single (possibly the Joel Corry one) to promote it. It doesn’t make sense to extend the Tension era to a third year.
 
I'm not here for the rewriting of the Tension era as anything less than a triumph.

It gave us late career bests in the form of Padam Padam, Hold On To Now, Tension, Somebody To Love, Story (especially the incredible extended mix). And Kylie has been utterly radiant and charming throughout.
 
I think the only issue I have with the era is they never really capitalised on the first two singles. Hold On To Now not getting a video and no further singles seemed strange.

But yes, there's surely going to be an inevitable repackage to MILK THAT DRY.

Yes, obviously Vegas has been her priority, but it was still a choice to not give us any more - it's not like she couldn't do it if they wanted to.
 
It is curious how we got a visualiser for some songs (Things We Do For Love is one of my favourite Kylie videos, period) but just a lyric video for Hold On To Now. That suggests to me that there were plans in place for one but for whatever reason they didn't go ahead with it.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the delay of that Shondaland show The Residence, in which the song is rumoured to appear. Apparently Kylie filmed her part in that before the Hollywood strikes last year.

Not sure how reliable this account is, as this would seem to be at the upper end of estimations. If it's true, surely it should be going Gold anytime now even without the reissue

Certifications aren’t based on units sold are they? They’re based on shipments. So she should be gold any second like VoR said.

I don’t know they might have changed the rules in the streaming era. But that’s how they used to do it. I imagine she has a fair amount of physical sales so it would apply.
 
Given the physical market shipments are by the by these days. 100k ‘sold’ will be by and large when it passes that and gets gold. I’d have assumed it was closer but it’s in the expected region.
 
I really don't think there is a Tension reissue coming after all. if there was why would it not be announced with My Oh My?

Yeah, as much as I like Tension, I'm done with the emotopop. Hopefully Hold On To Now is the apex of what she could deliver with that and she's now ready to just focus on SIX DEEP BANGERS.

Here's hoping she hooks up with Charli next.
 
as fun as her collabs have been so far, and I say this as a huge fan of Kylie Minogue, they don't sound like they have a place in Tension at all :( Perhaps a cute little EP xx
 
What's this for then? As much as I am sure she would do this for fun, is it for promo for the Blessed-Madge singal, the re-release of Tension, or a Tour?

All signs pointing to this being legit. Neil (the founder of SayHey) has stated the mockups are genuine. It seems this is an addendum to the original album.

I suppose it makes sense if she wants there to be a Tension tour but I hope we get a proper new album later next year
