I appreciate all of your points but I'd have rather done what did, trying to allow as many people as possible to see the show and get a photo with the girls that paid for it. We don't favour having a restrictive door policy, unlike certain other clubs do. I think we'll need to change the name of the meet & greet tickets as it seems to be more of an issue of semantics than anything else. The point of the meet & greet is to allow those who want to a chance to get a photo with the talent. Not a sit down coffee and a chat. We are not a global or even nationwide organisation ran by a conglomerate. I do this all of my own back, because I enjoy bringing acts to Glasgow who otherwise wouldn't even be aware of where Scotland is. This was the busiest Menergy we've ever had. Ever. More so than Sharon Needles, or the last time DWV came. I don't actually get much of a take-home out of doing this. It all goes back in to booking more queens that YOU want to see. I appreciate that it might have been your first time at a Drag Race show, but normally they are only CONTRACTED to do 2-3 songs and a 30 minute meet & greet. They did 4 and spent closer to 2 hours doing the meet & greet. We had a boy come all the way from BUDAPEST in HUNGARY who had the time of his life, coming from a place which is not the most receptive to our lifestyle. I'm not saying it was perfect by ANY means but I think that, all things considered - including a LOT of stuff that you didn't see happen behind in the scenes in the run-up to the event - immigration detention centres, diva strops, moving hotels, all at cost to me - it went pretty well. In a way DWV (and by booking them, we) are a victim of their own success.
