I enjoyed the 'kept his lips wet' pre-Watershed edit to Back To Black too.
 
Loved Angela too, possibly her best. The staging was wonderful and I think Carlos really suits the AT.
 
I expect Nigel will get the votes to go through anyway. Really not sure who will join Rippon in the dance off.
 
I think I am going to VOTE SCANLON, because I don't think Ellie and Vito need the votes.
 
I'm a bit worried for Layton and Nikita too. They went on early with what might be a divisive dance to a - let's be honest - racket of a song that was never a hit.

HOWEVER, if they're top of the leaderboard doesn't that make them being in the bottom two very unlikely/virtually impossible?

So I wonder if it might be Bobby or Annabel bottom two with Angela R, as popular as they are.

The ties definitely increase the possibility. Bobby being two points behind may well save him. Its a real test of support tonight.

Anton veers from offering genuine insight to absolutely nothing, with no in-between whatsoever.

I quite like it when he uses his experience on the show to convey how/why something has worked well from the professionals' perspective.

But the whole "OOH you gave it a bit of THIS and I'LL 'AVE SOME OF THAT THANK YOU VERY MUCH right into a FLIP TURN SWIVEL HEEL TOE HOO-AAH IT WAS BRILLIANT" schtick is really wearing thin.

The judging as a whole has been well off this year (more so than normal). Shirley giving a 10 in week three or whatever it was for some nonsense couple's choice has seemed to make Craig double down on not giving his 10 until as late as possible in the series. Meanwhile, Anton and Motsi just smile and pick up their 8, 9 or 10 paddles at random.
 
I feel that Bobby was let down this week by the vocal performance of the terrible singers, and having extra dancers took away from their jive rather than added to it.

Anyway, am I cynical in thinking Angela was pushed to get to Blackpool and was always due to go out this week?

I think this was the first week she's not been better than the other couple she was in the dance off against, but also the producers 100% wanted to get her to Blackpool

As an aside it's nice not to have a series of Strictly where there's no awkward situation of an excellent black female contestant being in the bottom two well before her time each week, isn't it. Just a shame they only got here by not hiring any black women this year :eyes:
 






The Christmas special is never all that but a pretty good line up (I had no idea who Tillie was - Waterloo Road apparently).

Jay from Eastenders doesn't look like an entirely willing participant in that picture but he seemed fine on ITT last night. Dan Snow is unsurprisingly slowly turning into his father.

Bills, Bills, Bills doesn't feel ideal for an AT but I'm sure Ellie and Vito will be fine.

The beginning when she threw herself at Johannes was AMAZING but I know what Craig means about the performance. She looked terrified for a lot of it.

I agreed with Craig there. Jerky hip action. Yep, Angela may be bottom 2. Nigel should be too but they made too much of a point about wanting to get him to musicals week.

Bobby will do fine being late in the lineup. No one ever goes out on Couple’s Choice and doing a dance dedicated to Jade - no way not getting 10s.
