There's a sound she has achieved on this, which has taken cues from all the stellar tracks in her discography (Say Something, All The Lovers, Lost Without You, I Believe In You et al) and been refined to the NTH degree.

And with the addition of tracks like Padam and Tension (and Hands and Green Light to a lesser extent) it shows that she doesn't want to rest on her laurels.

06 Hands
07 Green Light
05 Vegas High
03 10 Out Of 10

04 Love Train
06 Just Imagine
10 Somebody To Love

A VERY STRONG first listen rate. I'm so happy the album contains a proper 10/10 moment up there with Say Something.

I've also just listened to YSGMH a second time and I've already bumped it up to a 9

I won't score the album yet as I plan on giving it another listen, which is a GOOD SIGN. The album is cohesive and has a clear direction, which all her best albums do. She also sounds very confident on it, like they found a lane that is both relevant for now and for her, and she's having major fun with it.

I honestly didn't expect to love Hands as much as I do. I love that it gives the album a different shade.

10 Padam Padam

10 Padam Padam - une classique

08 Hold On To Now - kept waiting for the OMG moment that never came based on the hyper-bowl. she's cute!

09 Things We Do For Love - OMG. this is gorgeous. need to hear on really good speakers, I feel like the production has many details. there's a bit of a Say Something vibe in the outro.

09 Tension - great single, beautiful single

08.5 One More Time - LOVE her vocals. this feels like it has big potential to become a fave. super catchy and gorgeously well produced.

08 You Still Get Me High - I wasn't sure the first time the chorus came around but it grows as the song goes in. ready for a change of pace now though. which is lucky because...

07 Hands - I've gone off it a bit since hearing the leak. but it's cheeky and I do love our Kylie's CADENCE!

06.5 Green Light - great sax, cute production, but the chorus hook is quite lacking and the lyrics a little inane for me.

08 Vegas High - this one has quite a bit more life and lots of space to grow. certainly a better CorporateKylie™ cash-in than Fine Wine. banger!

08.5 10/10 - very sorry to report that I really enjoy this song. mindless af, naturellement, but it's just really catchy and sunny and despite earlier fears it fits this album like a GLOVE!

08.5 Story - love the PERSONAL LYRICS. the chorus is a touch chaotic but I think it will creep up on me, it feels like a Jake Shears collab somehow. nice closer.

8.25 Tension
fairly strong across the board, but better first half than second, which has a lack of standouts. definitely feels more related to Kiss Me Once than any of her other albums, to me... maybe it's KMO done right.

Love Train is both hideous and strangely enjoyable, Just Imagine was immediately forgotten and Somebody to Love should CLEARLY have made the main album over Green Light. she can do this song in her sleep but it's still GORGEY!

I've come to the conclusion that Green Light is Miss A Thing's little sister, which is no bad thing.

Story - that chorus!

Love Train - Gross but that outro is :disco:

Then I arrived at work :(

I feel HOLD ON FOR NOW could have been more though. Lacked a bit of oomph towards the end.
It's true that I was waiting for some kind of Kylie explosion that never came - but it didn't reduce my enjoyment in the slightest. This is the track which has been compared to Robyn, isn't it? And it really is Honey Kyliefied.

You Still Get Me High, Vegas High, Hold On To Now, Story, Just Imagine, Hands, Somebody to Love... what glorious additions to her repertoire.

I did find Hands a little jarring for about 5 seconds. Then I yielded to it. It can happily sit with One Boy Girl and Secret (Take You Home) for me.

I'll leave my negativity to wondering what on earth they were thinking by leaving Somebody To Love off the main album.

This. There's an undeniable groove despite the male vocal (pitched up to sound female) basically sharing the track with her.

Read her Track by Track for this. There is a pop star with absolutely NO PRETENCE and I love her for it.

Where is the track by track, please?

It all comes back to Rufus Wainwright's quote, doesn't it?

Self-knowledge is a truly beautiful thing and Kylie knows herself inside out. She is what she is and there is no attempt to make quasi-intellectual statements to substantiate it. She is the gay shorthand for joy.

I do think this album owes a huge debt of gratitude to Say Something if only because that core creative team are behind ALL of the best tracks here.

what about One More Time

I liked the track by track as we rarely hear her or see her get asked about her creative process so from a music geek perspective it was an interesting read.
