The Israel-Gaza war and wider Middle-East tensions

I've used that phrase before, because it reflects what I think is the best solution - a free state where both Israelis and Palestinians have equal rights under the law. A one-state solution. For you to call that a call for genocide is quite reductive, to be honest, and it doesn't feel like it's coming from a place of good faith.

You're entitled to your opinion, but it is most certainly not the case for me. We can agree to disagree.

By the way, Hamas (a terrorist organisation) wants to wipe Israel off the face of the earth.

I think it's clear that both "from the river to the sea" and "zionism" mean different things to different people.

Anti-semitism in the US/UK/west etc is clearly rising, which scares me, and definitely needs to be addressed. As does Islamaphobia. But 2.2 million people starving is more urgent and needs to be fixed now. Something that I have had to come to terms with is that I can support a cause (equal rights for Palestinians), even if many of the supporters have views and tactics I disagree with, and some hate me for being Jewish.

Agree 100%

Actually - again I really don’t feel this is a safe space for discussion. Im trying to be as impartial and objective as I can. To both sides. But it’s simply too inflamed a situation. I apologise to anyone I have offended. My posts have been in good faith. All human life is precious. I will now withdraw from this thread.

Not sure I get when you pointed that out about Palestine then but ok beb.
It was a reply in context to the previous discussion in the thread. My point is that all most of the Middle East was shafted by the way colonialism carved up the borders. The context in this thread is Israel and Palestine .

the way this thread claims a new victim every three days is wild. can we please have miss Bev back soon!!!

I fundamentally disagree with the concept of an ethnostate, yes - whatever the ethnicity may be.

I agree with that on principle but to wish for a one (multi ethnic) state solution for Israel/Palestine is either an idealistic dream that will never happen (unless you’d be fine whith the state of Israel now where there are already Arabs living as Israeli citizens) or it would mean that the Jews would not be able to stay there.

“Working to learn lessons from the incident”

Please kindly fuck off, you evil murderous cunts.

Investigating?

If only there was an international body set up to help them navigate what words like “investigate” are meant to mean when it comes to war and military action

Why wouldn't they be able to stay?
