do we have one? if so feel free to merge

anyway. i love red carpets. they've consistently been the best thing about award shows for quite some time

shall we have a gander at the met ball? i love how badly so many people did punk (poor beyonce, kim kardashian, katie perry, miley and the olsen twins were amazingly bad)

but my faves

sienna miller was also almost amazing but had too much going on and i quite liked uma though it made her look so much older

I think the met ball had a theme where they were directed to wear an homage to punk or something and I liked Katy Perry's look.

That Kim picture is tragic.

Poor Kim.

The Met Gala is the fashion industry's biggest event (alongside Paris Haute Couture week), so it's usually very exciting. Especially because it's more costume oriented. Otherwise, Red Carpet events are nowhere near as impressive.

My favourite of the night by far was Carrie Mulligan in Balenciaga. Not the prettiest girl, but the outfit is head-to-toe breathtaking.

LOVED the Dior girls, Marion Cotillard and Jennifer Lawrence.

And I quite liked Elizabeth banks in Versace. Not the most tasteful thing out there, but she's one of the few who can wear golden studded power-shouldered dresses and not look grotesque.

Worst of the night (apart from Kim) were Elle Fanning. She's too young to be interesting for me. Great actress but she comes off as a pawn in the industry.

Gwyneth Paltrow in a yucky pink monstrosity

And poor old Kristen Stewart. Another pawn in the industry whom no one really cares for. She's in Stella McCartney (Paul's daughter).
Stella's a great example of how having rich famous parents can do anything for you. Worst designer in British history.

And I MUST mention my supermodels, because they have the bodies and attitudes to wear anything.

Hilary Rhoda. Quite simply the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. Never seen anyone with a more beautiful face.

Gisele Bundchen. Yowza. She's fucking awesome.

And Karolina Kurkova. Great legs.

ERR

Stella is actually a pretty FAB designer.

I LOVED Gwyneth's dress - I love her whole point that not following the PUNK dress-code IS punk.

I love that Elle dress, the eyes are weird but isn't she like 15?

Wait, these outfits are all meant to be PUNK?

I suppose at least Cameron made an effort.

I think these were the ones who bothered with the theme

Oh Beyonce :D

Is this another Ms Tina ensemble?

It's Givenchy but she probably chose it herself. She should not have worn the boots.

It's sort of sweet that Beyonce has NO CLUE about fashion.

It humanises her.

Beyonce looks atrocious. No one wants to see a fashion house who used to dress the likes of Audrey Hepburn also dress someone like Beyonce. Because quite frankly, next to Audrey Hepburn, Beyonce is about as classy as a pile of flat tyres. I understand that times change and fashion has to stay relevant, but Beyonce is too ghetto for Givenchy. They did really well with Rooney Mara.

Beyonce's people need to keep her with the likes of Versace. Music has been part of that brand's DNA for decades and they actually know how to dress divas and female rappers without making them look pretentious.

Katy Perry looks cute. I think she's in Dolce & Gabbana. They've gone downhill. A lot.

:D :D

That's Carine Roitfeld. She's the former Editor in Chief of Vogue Paris and the only one who might even come close to Anna Wintour in terms of influence in the industry.
Believe it or not, she's also dressed by Givenchy I think. She's had a lot of influence over Givenchy for years and is actually fairly close with Beyonce and Ciara.

The years have not been kind to 50 year old Nicole Richie

Khalesi <3

The theme was PUNK: Chaos to Couture wasn't it? Hence the ball gowns.

Kylie turned up in this Moschino number:

All these D Listers above are all well and good, but let's get a bit of A List action going with the 2013 TV Baftas

Tina Malone

showbiz-baftas-2013-tina-malone.jpg

Couldn't she wash before leaving the house.

Debra Messing is not reacting well to Smash being cancelled

null_zps2dd7f79c.jpg

Also not red carpet but Lucy Liu is amazingly pretty

null_zps67678b0d.jpg

I think that's just a bad shot of Debra. She's beautiful. That jumpsuit is...questionable.

She looks like she should be stuck in a toilet roll.

That would be nice if it were less puffy on the hips.

I love Nicole for staying pale though <3
