Turquoise Sunday

I'm at work, its very quiet in town today.

Mandy managed to get us approved for a mortgage with the Halifax yesterday, after Nationwide declined us. After some googling it seems the Halifax are good at lending to self employed / small business / low earners, so bonus.

And we viewed the cutest house on Friday, and now i want to put an offer in but we aren't quite in the right position yet :(

BBQs are the only time I am grateful for salads

Cheap gristle + smoke + wasps = fun apparantly

My family also like to "finish" off BBQ meat by baking it indoors in the oven, which both negates the whole point of the BBQ in the first place, and also manages to DRY the already cheap and nasty meat to fuck.

BAN BBQs

I've just spent about three hours looking for a thing of TALC that I bought in about 1990 and I KNOW I HAD IT ABOUT A WEEK AGO since when it has made THE MOST MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCE and I'm getting QUITE VEXED

I only want to try and desqueak the landing floor

What a load of pompous shit. It's all butchers meat, with decent salads. It's a regular summer occurrence at the in-laws. I enjoy it. Admittedly I don't get excited about cooking or eating outside, but seeing as we don't eat red meat at home, it's a good excuse to FILL UP.

Feeding this into A.I. to see what Bob and Claire think.

Halloumi is too prone to tearing, and small slithers then slipping between the grills into the charcoal netherworld

I love eating outside. A CRISP SALAD with a Sauvignon blanc is WONDROUS for a stunning Summers day lunch BUT I’m not really all that keen on all that meat on a BBQ either although done right it can be fabulous. It’s rarely ever right though.

I’m not really a MEAT FIEND unless we are talking about certain appendages but fish on a BBQ is FABULOUS.

I basically spend 75% of my summer evenings on the beach with a BBQ. We've got a LOTUS GRILL, which is gas so not 100% the same but is FUCKING MARVELLOUS to hoik off down the front with a couple of beers for the night.

Nothing better than BBQ'd fish for me.
I just googled a Lotus Grill, what a beautiful little thing. Is there a small glass bottle inside?

No there isn't. Basically there's a small chamber where you put your coals in (which are special, smokeless ones, though you do still get some smoke, be warned), lighting gel underneath it and then you put batteries in/ charge via USB and it blows air through the coals. It heats up super quickly (I think it says 10 minutes, but we usually start cooking at 5) and you have zero issues with the wind/ coals going out etc. etc. Total game changer for us on a balcony, where you can't really have a proper BBQ and, as I said, on the beach, where there is wind.

It's not as tasty as 100% proper BBQ'd food, but not really noticeable and the ease is marvellous. I THOROUGHLY recommend.

And it looks pretty small as well? We want a BBQ for when we move but will only have a small garden, this could be perfect, and we can take it on picnics too :o

We've got a Ninja electric BBQ on our balcony and it has a little chamber to put in smoke pellets, which does a great job of making things tasty. Its not exactly the same as a proper BBQ but it does a good job.

You can get a couple of sizes. We have the smaller one and it's easily enough to do two people's dinner in one go.
