Afternoon. Productive morning. Gardening, ironing, dishes and washload hung.
Off for a BBQ
Off for a BBQ
Bbqs rammed with cheap meat thats both burnt and undercooked are indeed shit.Where’s that unpopular opinion thread?
BBQs are overrated!
And badly cooked mostly shit food, and socialisingI hate eating outdoors generally.
We went to our first one in about 15 years last year. A very OLD A-GAYS affair with apparently only the finest local farm shop ingredients.I don't think I've been to one of those in about 25 years *peers down nose*
No better than on a griddle on my hob. And no insects.BBQ'd halloumi is amazing.
Hmm I disagree, I like the smoky burnt taste from a BBQNo better than on a griddle on my hob. And no insects.
That's always devastating.Halloumi is too prone to tearing, and small slithers then slipping between the grills into the charcoal netherworld
I’m sorry you all hang out with shit chefs![]()
HAVE YOU HEARD OF TIN FOIL?Halloumi is too prone to tearing, and small slithers then slipping between the grills into the charcoal netherworld
HAVE YOU HEARD OF TIN FOIL?
I just googled a Lotus Grill, what a beautiful little thing. Is there a small glass bottle inside?I basically spend 75% of my summer evenings on the beach with a BBQ. We've got a LOTUS GRILL, which is gas so not 100% the same but is FUCKING MARVELLOUS to hoik off down the front with a couple of beers for the night.
Nothing better than BBQ'd fish for me.

And it looks pretty small as well? We want a BBQ for when we move but will only have a small garden, this could be perfect, and we can take it on picnics tooNo there isn't. Basically there's a small chamber where you put your coals in (which are special, smokeless ones, though you do still get some smoke, be warned), lighting gel underneath it and then you put batteries in/ charge via USB and it blows air through the coals. It heats up super quickly (I think it says 10 minutes, but we usually start cooking at 5) and you have zero issues with the wind/ coals going out etc. etc. Total game changer for us on a balcony, where you can't really have a proper BBQ and, as I said, on the beach, where there is wind.
It's not as tasty as 100% proper BBQ'd food, but not really noticeable and the ease is marvellous. I THOROUGHLY recommend.
