Singer/songwriter and featured electronic vocalist. Could go either way.

I'm happy with that, if it's true. I've heard of her before from somewhere. At least it's modern and different. Will be interesting to see that the song is like.

Oh god. Who is / are Direct?

Please somebody reassure me it's not a RAPPER.

Direct, Joseph Lyncheski, is an electronic musician with a diverse style inspired by many sources.

At the age of 12, Joseph who had been using computers all of his life, began making electronic music and publishing it to many different web forums and discussion boards under the aliases "Synth38" and "Animism."

Under the alias "Animism," Joe released a bootleg remix of Far East Movement's "Like A G6" which has gained more than 450,000 views on YouTube. Joseph also gained popularity under the alias "DIrect," his current alias.

A bootleg remix of Avicii's "Levels" gained over 200,000 views on youtube. In June of 2012 he signed his first original on a label, Free My World was released on Monstercat. He has been releasing on Monstercat since then.

I'm just happy to be discovering so much new music.

And the rumour mill CONTINUES! :D

The latest one is Molly Smitten Downes.

She was the lead singer of the dance group Stunt a few years ago.

Probably a lot of shit, but still...

I think they should have got Gags in

It's not like she's doing anything else and could do with the European career boost

I loved 'Fade Like The Sun'. Totally wouldn't work at Eurovision, but she's got a great pop voice.

The interesting thing will be whoever has written or produced the song. It's unlikely to be the selected artist for both, so who did the BBC rope in for the track itself?

The biggest perk of the reveal on Monday is all this endless rumour milling will be over!

I'm particularly enjoying how now, instead of picking anyone at random who is washed up, now the rumours have moved on to linking to any complete unknown who has uploaded anything ever on to YouTube. As endless at it seems, I'm slightly concerned that YouTube is going to run out of videos.

But that's the best bit. After this, all we're stuck with is two months of disappointment and a result which matches expectations.

Looking like it's Molly Smitten Downes! She's performing at a "secret gig" in London tonight with no phones allowed. A quick look through her Twitter also suggests she was recording with an orchestra in Stockholm last month, which certainly doesn't come cheap.

Tweets are already coming through though:

Our Eurovision entry is actually fantastic! if we don't do well with this girl then we should definitely consider pulling out!

This Uk Eurovision entry better get ready for a whole lot of attention....!

Someone who sneaked their phone in (probably up her fanny) said this:

@AlissaMed @AcerBen Only heard it once so hard to say. Think of it as Margaret Berger & Yohanna rolled into one

Her song 'Raindrops' was a top ten hit as a mash-up with SASH!'s Encore Une Fois a few years ago.

Are we actually using SYNTHESISED BEATS and not for a PWL-PASTICHE? GLORY BE.

The Guy Freeman blog said the track was self-penned, but I don't know if that'd also go for production.

If you believe the initial leaked feedback, consider putting £10 overnight on UK at Betfair

If that description is even remotely accurate then I'm damp and waiting the inevitable shite they send next year.

Too late. Since I last placed a bet this afternoon, the odds fell from 26 to 12.

UK now third favourites.

This is very odd. For the first time in years, I'm starting to get vaguely excited about the UK reveal...
