I’m thinking about song, but of course, nothing says that that’s what’s coming tomorrow, does it?
IF we’re getting an announcement tomorrow (and as Soldi has cannily observed, it might be bullshit), then I’d imagine it will probably just be the artist, and IF they’re announcing the artist first, then it will be someone at least with a little bit of recognition factor to merit being the story by themselves.

If it’s a band then I want Benefit or unperfect

To be fair the track kinda slaps, but I'm not sure a middle aged rock band that sounds like a San Marino entry is what we need.

I heard the Franz Ferdinand rumours a few days back. I wouldn’t mind, since I’ve always thought we should lean more into rock/indie since that’s our USP. We wouldn’t be competitive in the slightest though.

It feels like a backward step considering our last few entries, but then it feels kind of inevitable after we've bombed the last couple of times.

The BBC keeping an eye on up-and-comers The Kooks for next year.

Apparently they were once even contention for Greece like 20 years ago :D

From wiki:

“On 15 January 2005, Star Channel reported that front runners Franz Ferdinand met with ERT but were soon excluded as they were requesting more money, and had "no idea how Eurovision works and thus they proposed to compose a remake of a past song of theirs".”

Well they’re playing Samantha Mumba so it’s just going to be related to that isn’t it.

They're playing Gotta Tell You, so I wonder if it's just 'announcing' she's in Ireland :eyes:

The gist was that the BBC has teamed up with a leading figure in the music industry to help find the next act to represent the UK, and will be revealed before prior to the March.

Didn’t they announce that months ago? If we’re calling Sam Ryder’s manager a leading music industry figure that is. :eyes:

They did indeed announce it months ago. Seems like someone realised it was just a recycled newstory and pulled it down

Scott Mills locked in a room, listening to the UK Eurovision entry:

Is it ludicrous to be slightly panicked by the dispassionate tone of 'It's good'? :D
