Lady Gaga
Best remembered for: A Star is Born

Award-winning actress here, won a Golden Globe for her performance in American Horror Story and got nominated for an Oscar for A Star is Born. Sadly, what started off as a great career has taken an turn for the bad. Her Patrizia Reggiani was giving Katinka from Zoolander and her Harley Quinn got her a Golden Raspberry nomination! I’ve no doubt she still has great roles in her

Christina Aguilera
Best remembered for: Burlesque

Sadly Ms Aguilera has not been the most prolific actress so we could truly form an objective picture of her talent as an actress but the little work she has done in Hollywood, boy she has delivered! She almost won an Oscar for the critically acclaimed Burlesque and her fans were beyond extatic over her VoiceOver in the animated movie The Emoji Movie. We want more Ms Aguilera!

Madonna
Best remembered for: The Body of Evidence

Madonna could have enjoyed a successful career as an actress even without her musical career. Put on the map with 80s cult classic Desperately Seeking Susan. Delivered many iconic performances like Dick Tracy, A League of Their Own and The Body of Evidence. Finally landing Evita which got her a Golden Globe for best actress! Post-Evita, Madonna’s film ventures (Swept Away, The Next Best Thing) grew sporadic and less successful but she has nothing to prove.

Jennifer Lopez
Best remembered for: Monster in Law

I know sometimes we laugh at her acting career and sometimes we cry. She’s been nominated for multiple Razzies but the Academy LOVES a growth story so I believe in 5-10 years she will win an Oscar before any of the divas listed here. She has the talent but just needs to right part.

Whitney Houston
Best remembered for: The Bodyguard

While her music career often overshadowed her work on screen, Houston’s foray into acting showcased her versatility and charisma, earning her both critical praise and commercial success, most notably for The Bodyguard. I was surprised to learn no awards were given for Rachel Marron. Also starred in The Preacher’s Wife and Cinderella. Very talented actress!

Britney Spears
Remembered for: Crossroads

Britney’s acting career was like Christina Aguilera’s from Temu - as short-lived but without the quality and commercial success. She won a Golden Raspberry award for Crossroads.

Janet Jackson
Remembered for: The Nutty Professor II: The Klumps

Behind all the moans and giggles there is a surprising charismatic actress! Iconic roles in Poetic Justice and The Nutty Professor duology.

Cher has a wonderfully natural screen presence. I wish she’d done more. She truly gives MOVIE STAR in her best roles.

Bette is a brilliant comedienne who probably has the highest number of classic movies on her resume.

Streisand is an icon who also has a lot of classics to her name, but a lot of them are kind of fading from public memory now sadly.

J.Lo is our generation's Joan Crawford :disco:

Gaga was perfectly decent in Star is Born, but I find the whole self-serious persona she creates around her acting career really off-putting.

I love Lada Gaga probably more than most; I don't think she's a great actress though. YET. Its about the role and the movie, isn't it

Let's also not overlook star of A Walk to Remember, Saved, Tangled and Emmy nominated TV sensation MANDY MOORE

I quote ‘That is a FUCKING LIE’ from Outrageous Fortune too often to be healthy. And no-one probably knows what the hell I’m referencing either.

I’m changing from Cher to Bette Midler. Ruthless People, Big Business and Down & Out In Beverly Hills should win it for her alone. Then there’s The First Wives Club, Hocus Pocus, Get Shorty… as much as I love Cher’s performances, Bette’s films have a lot more rewatchability.

HPOE :disco: (Halli post of Easter)
