When the men came second in the Euros 2020 they all had stony faces and removed their runner up medals because they wouldn't dare wear them. No dummy spitting from the women though.
 
Some of the play from Spain was incredible. Gutted for England, but elated for Mary Earps emerging as an absolute queen.

And it’s hard to feel too down because in a broader sense, this feels like a huge moment for women’s football in the UK. Obviously getting to the final has been a massive factor in that, but it also feels about as “small” as the international competitions will ever be again.

I think I’d be quite furious if I found out my dad had been dead for two days and no-one had told me in case I failed to catch a football!
 
I think many teams usually have an agreed protocol for personal events like this, during tournaments. She may well have made that choice herself.
