It would require an awkward piece of editing though...Surely they could just keep running down the charts...
Depeche Mode's music feels quite dated in 1984, when you compare it to the Hi-NRG stuff that was around.
Caribbean Queen is a right tune though, despite being Billie Jean 2.0.

I don't think I ever realised I Feel For You was such a big hit. Obviously it's a fucking wonder, but it's such an unlikely 3 week #1.
God I hate DURAN DURAN. Even NILE RODGERS could only make them MARGINALLY LESS SHIT
For five years I have been going into the studio, really working at creating masterpieces, mixing jazz and rock and funk. So now I do this song [I Feel For You] and put rapping on it–which really is the pits! The lowest thing you can do, from an artist’s standpoint.
I genuinely don't think I realised how horrible the talking verses of One Night in Bangkok are. I am very familiar with the choruses but I don't even recall the bits in-between.
Nick Heyward, Nik Kirshew, Paul Young... the 80s had so much excitement but was also awash with beige. This Nick Heyward song is phish.
So glad Tommy Vance is LONG DEAD.
As the next two TOTP episodes aren't going to be shown, here's a link to them...
Nothing specific just the whole package. Hideous.I guess this may be referring to that line about the waiters going back to the canteen. Dreadful man.
I must be the only poster at moopy who quite liked Tommy Vance! He was a walking disaster at times when he presented the top 40, including once knocking over a pile of records live on radio on the top 40 while he was playing 'I Love Rock 'N' Roll' by Joan Jett which caused the needle to skate across the record (I still have that on tape!) because he'd had too much to drink that Sunday afternoon. But his heart was in the right place. John Peel once said Vance was his favourite presenter at Radio 1.Wikipedia tells me that Vance's real name was Richard Anthony Crispian Francis Prew Hope-Weston. What a bell end.
