What’s in your fridge?

I don’t have any, but yes we do. It tends to be for colour more than anything else though and I find the much cheaper turmeric does the same job!
Oh yes we have a cheap alternative here that most of the times does the job. I don't think it's turmeric.

I have an Iranian friend who introduced me to it years ago. She told me she uses it pretty much in any way you'd use lemon as a flavour enhancer. I usually stir it into plain hummus, or into labneh with mint it's delicious.
Also (given that I’m not entirely sure even though I think I bought some recently)…

So it’s got a citrusy flavour? Interesting :disco:

Sumac sounds GREAT. I’m adding some to my Ocado order :)
And the order pickers will think you're so EXOTIC with a CULTURED PALATE, you'll be able to pop in a packet of BUTTERSCOTCH ANGEL DELIGHT without a second thought!

Pickled eggs are delicious. As is anything pickled. Also banana loaf/bread

also I ended up loving the twiglets I bought, so that’s another British delicacy for you to try @Alla

I bought a Middle Eastern cookbook a while ago - hence some of the spices on my shelf - but made the fatal error of being “inventive” and using kidney beans in an Iraqi white bean stew which I’d made before with white beans to very pleasing effect. God the kidney bean effort was awful. Just the look of it said “bin”. I’ve made hardly anything since :(

I only had pickled onions and the green ones, I don't know the name, gherkin? I've never seen pickled eggs, no doubt I'd buy them.

I googled those twiglets... :eyes:

God I need to try those picked eggs, I'm very curious now. I'm gonna do an exhaustive search, I can't believe I can't find them here.

:D The amount of times I've spent upwards of THIRTY MINUTES making something new and exciting, only to have to slope back into the kitchen and scrape it into the bin :(

Not hard to make your own if you can’t. Just vinegar, eggs, a sterilised jar and whatever spices you fancy (optional).

I’ve never had salmorejo but next time I get Spanish food I want to try it

THIRTY MINUTES! Well this is the beauty of DOLMIO. You can pop it in a pan to hot up in seconds and always enjoy that guaranteed RESTAURANT TASTE :disco:

Oh you really have to! Praying for you having a proper one, because in some places here they don't get it right. I NEVER have it out because it's not as good as the one I can make.
