Lady Gaga - Harlequin

I think this is a good move. There's no point putting out anything substantial for the rest of this year, we're saturated. Might as well stake out some territory with a covers album that will probably have some great moments if nothing else and then hit us with a proper album next year when everyone else is recording their follow-ups.

with the single dropping in October I guess she still qualifies as part of the 2024 apopolypse :disco:

I'm really curious to see if Die With a Smile (and Joker and her general ubiquity) get her a proper hit with the LG7 lead single. feels like she's ready to be everywhere again. but it's hard to look at Chromatica's singles to judge how easily she can get a solo smash.

This wicked woman will not stop using this man’s poor corpse!

Surely the album proper isn't coming until 2025, tho'. This is like a band issuing an EP in the early-mid 90s. Keeps the wheels moving.

It always seems like she's outgrown the pop domination phase. I'm excited for whatever she ends up doing tbh.

Except another Joanne.

Doing an exhibition at the Louvre to promote your album you're doing to promote your movie which you're doing to promote yourself as an EGOT contender. The layers.

Oh the snippets I've heard suggest these covers are largely played straight :Roxxxy:

It's giving Big Band Week, and she's going straight to the sing-offs because she hasn't even "made the songs her own".
