My Way is one of those songs I never want to hear ANYONE sing.

But Robbie is both top of that "PLEASE NO" list, whilst also feeling the most inevitable.

I went to see this on Wednesday to start the year off right (and no one else was doing the same, me and the other half were the only two in our screening, though it was early afternoon on NYD).

I'm not really a fan of Robbie as a personality, but many of his hits are undeniable and I enjoyed getting to learn more about him and Take That (I had no idea they started off being aimed at gays). I evidently knew so little about Robbie that I've only just realised in this moment that the poster for the movie is re-creating the album cover of Life thru a Lens.

I don't think this biopic would've worked as well as it did, without the monkey (the motion capture of which was done by a guy from my hometown).

Perfect selection of trailers as well - another musician biopic ("A Complete Unknown"), a horror called "The Monkey", and something starring Nicole Kidman!

THIS is probably why studios are a bit reluctant to Madonna's biopic demands. They've seen the price tag on this PIECE OF SHIT and they don't want to have another FLOP on their hands.

YES I blame Robbie Williams for this and not Madonna's own megalomania. It's my prerogative. BITE ME Robbie FANS !

They'd have to cast someone new for her every face! How EXPENSIVE

2m of that is from the UK and even that has been a tepid performance - it will likely start losing theatres in the UK before too long unless it sees a decent upswing this weekend.
2m is from the UK but it doesn’t include any money made in the UK since last Sunday. I also don’t think the Australian and New Zealand figures are right. They seem to be money made in January 2023, so I think they’ve attached the tiny figures from a different film with the same name. It doesn’t appear in the weekly charts for last week in Australia and New Zealand, which probably means they haven’t actually reported the figures yet. It’s still not going to do well, but it’s not doing quite as badly as 2.1m worldwide after a week would imply.

I'm more interested in all those production companies

All seemingly FOLDED or NON-EXISTENT by the time the film comes out! :eyes:
Almost as if they are all on the hock for a proportion of that ridiculous budget, meaning that any money it actually makes can go straight into some executive’s cocaine habit.

$8,000 at US Box Office on Friday - every little helps

It's only showing on a few screens in the US isn't it? Opening wide next week I think

Not that I think it's going to do well

Just been to see this and I have to say it was actually quite good. #IStandWithdUb

I have some questions about the timeline that had Robbie...

and Nicole off All Saints pair up, become a showbiz power couple, and be forced to terminate a pregnancy by evil management all before 'Never Ever' was out.

It's historical inaccuracies like that which really take you out of a monkey musical.

We’re losing good people left right and centre to this dark movement. I feel like some sort of alliance is required to protect those of us left :(

There’s only one thing for it.

We have to counter this and go and see A Complete Unknown, starring Timothée Chalamet, out on 17th January.

Bring back the Banning Game.

Finishes, er, 7th in its second full weekend at the UK Box Office.

Doesn't the weekend totals include Sundays? Surprised we know already.
