The idea that he will personally review all working from home requests is laughable. I'd have thought he would have far more pressing concerns to deal with.

He sounds like absolute hell to work for. I'm amazed anyone still wants to work for one of his companies.
 
He has no idea what's good about Twitter, does he? Like most of the right wing, he's been duped into thinking it's some kind of leftie plotting space full of commies and weirdos. And now it's costing him billions.
 
It's not just him, it's the board who were so desperate to sell it to him for a quick payday and shares dividend.

The tech industry had this really earnest mission to rebuild capitalism - make money and still be kind. Welcome to America. In the grand scheme of things, it lasted five minutes.

I'd happily see it's demise, so long as it's urgently replaced so I can understand the news through sassy comments and irreverent memes.
 
I'm not going to lie - I used twitter as a vehicle to build my career into something I would have never dreamt of when I was 17 or 18 and I've gotten to know and work with a lot of truly wonderful people as a result; some of them will be life-long friends, I reckon. But I've also kept my following list to people I genuinely appreciate and it has never turned into the cesspit that so many (rightfully) say it is.

But unless someone intervenes, Elon will drive it into the digital abyss by the end of this year. :zombie:

Exactly the same. I’ve never really seen much of the so-called cesspit as I generally follow lovely people. The biggest disagreements we have are over who should have won an acting Oscar in 1993.

I started a new Twitter for work and deliberately stayed away from any political content to avoid any cunts, but I liked some pro-trans content and now my feed is full of recommended transphobic and racist shit. The algorithm is determined to get you fighting!
 
I will miss Twitter a lot for athletics, really. There's nowhere else I get my info from. Thankfully, it's helped me meet a group of likeminded people who I now go to championships with, with whom I am proper friends and I am part of a very (too) active Whatsapp group of about 30 of us. So I'll thank it for that, but it's a fucking cesspit nowadays.
 
Oh I have multiple personalities Twitters. One for being a right cunt, one for professional me, one for the business and one for porn which served me very well when I lived in Ibiza with terrible internet. I have nostalgia for wanking over 30s porn clips.
 
I'll miss Twitter. It's put me in touch with some cool people, including many Fall fans (leading to me getting a credit and being quoted in a new book about The Fall!) as well as discovering loads of great music.
 
I mean, I can get cat pictures anywhere. But there were some very good curators.
