"Ser Criston - bring me the eye of Lucerys Valaryon!"

that line made me scream so hard I legit had to pause the episode. I loved it. THE SCENE as it shall henceforth be known was SO juicy and so full of petty family theatrics it made the Lannisters' treatment of Tyrion look like child's play. what a hot fucking mess these people are!
I also really enjoyed the dragon riding scene, and this was the first episode that I thought the dragons (i) looked properly believable in CGI terms and (ii) felt actually integral to the storyline. after that first 15 minutes where absolutely nothing happened*, it picked up spectacularly and never let go.
*I did note that Viserys calling Alicent "Aemma" presumably signals that he'll be losing grip on his mind as well his body before long. another random observation: Otto Hightower looks younger now than in episode 1.
only thing I'm unsure about is the idea that they managed to fake Laenor's death, but I'll let that go. this ep gets a Jarkette grade A
