I can't say I haven't been tempted by the first branch here, but I've had pangs of guilt and gone to local indies instead. The second one is opening on a main road where their nearest competition will be Nero & Starbucks for coffee and Sainsbury's & M&S for bread, so they can fight it out amongst themselves without my concern.

Sadly very few thrive round here, although we have a pretty decent market spread around the centre, which I increasingly use. There are some excellent fruit and veg stands.
