Nicola Sturgeon RESIGNS (+ ALLEGEDLY CROOKED + FOUL LANGUAGE + HUSBAND CHARGED + DIVORCING + LEAVING PARLIAMENT + NO LONGER SUSPECT) (2 Viewers)

Although on the plus side, she's such an asset to the SNP it can only help Labour win the 2024 GE.
God, just realised that she won't be doing the leadership debates for the next election. She's always amazing in them for casually destroying other leaders.

Nicola Sturgeon What GIF by The SNP

:manson: at them asking about trans issues. The obsession and the brain worms!

Who's waiting in the wings?
Kate Forbes is the favourite. She's very capable, she stood in and did the budget with about 10 hours notice when the previous Finance Secretary wanted to take a 17 year old to the rugby 💪. However she is to the right of the SNP, and is very lucky to have been on Mat Leave during the Gender Recognition Bill, as she was one of the ones that probably would have voted against it if she was on the backbenches, and might have went as far as to resign from government to do so. I think she'll be popular with the public, but struggle with areas of the SNP membership and might see a small to medium defection to the greens at the grassroots.

Hamza Yusuf is probably the closest to Nicola Sturgeon politically, and would be popular with the membership. However he has taken an absolute beating as health secretary, to the point where it might be disqualifying. Also he might struggle with the press a little.

The third is Angus Robertson. He is one of longest serving SNPers, having been in Westminster as leader before being elected to the Scottish Parliament at that last election and immediately being given, essentially, Brexit minister. He was close to Salmond as well when he was around, and would very much be seen as a safe pair of hands, and is very good at debating from what I've seen. However, if I was to guess, he probably won't get the nod as I think they'll want someone younger.

One of the biggest human flaws is that we’ve been engineered in a way where if we have toxic narcissism it makes us ambitious and tenacious and unrelenting (Trump, West, Musk) and therefore more likely to push to the top, elbow people out of the way, and do anything to remain there. People who SHOULD be leading (Jacinda, Nicola) because of their emotional intelligence and authenticity, are ‘laboured’ with self awareness and humility, and don’t enjoy the toxicity that goes with trying to remain on top.

It’s so fucking ANNOYING and BACKWARDS and pretty much the reason for every major man made disaster in HISTORY

Is Ian Blackford not part of SNP anymore? Not that I would want him as the next first minister, but strange that he is not present in the odds?

Angus Robertson HATES Salmond.

Plaid Cymru erased because they don't fit the narrative!

I was slightly embarrassed to say I'd never recognise Jo Swinson outside of that line up until I realised I had to google who the leader of the Green Party was.

What a fucking stupid article, unless I'm missing the point :D

She also never used the word aubergine, is she anti aubergine? Is she on an aubergine TIRADE? Is she planning a career in exterminating all aubergines from the planet?

NEWS AT ELEVEN

How many times can you fit in a country into a sentence anyway?

11 times is quite a lot!

I'm DUMBFOUNDED by the stupidity :D

If she didn't try to explain WHY she was doing it, there'd just be endless speculation. By doing so SHE LITERALLY HAD TO TALK ABOUT HERSELF.
Not to mention that she also used words like us, our, we, everyone, all, together, country, nation, national and Scottish anyway.
Guilty of trying to avoid repetition.

Maybe they were hoping she'd frame the speech like "I'm leaving, and I'm taking Scotland WITH ME".

Why are you assuming she's left for the same reason as Jacinda?
