RPDR UKvTW - Episode 4

Baga, Blu, a deflated Juju, is that what we have left? How dare she sending Pangina home? Oh fuck this fucking shit show, I'm done.

The GAG if Baga hadn’t picked Pangina and Blu looks COMPLETELY EVIL NEXT WEEK :disco:

I still can't take Blu seriously, trying to be all "ruthless" and stuff. The bitch is so corny for doing this :D

Only evil things happening this week, what's next, Anna B. walking her heat this Saturday? I just can't. :vomit:

Hahahahahahaha that was hilarious. Ru talking over Pangina’s howls was the funniest thing and everyone’s face :D

This was one of the least funny snatch games ever. What a fucking awful season.

I'm absolutely LIVING for this series!

Blu is the only one left DESPERATE to win.

She's very PRODUCED. You could tell she thought she was creating a moment with that lead-in, which was clearly hinting at sending Juju going home, but the moment she thought she was creating... It was not that :D

I thought Blu’s snatch game was horrific as well! It was just the jokes kids made in the playground 20 years ago! Do ZOOMERS even know who Austin Powers IS?!?
I also thought it was APPALLING. But how much of that is the performance as opposed to my own horror at someone referencing Austin Powers in the year of our lord 2022 is up for debate.

Austin Powers is straight culture.

I will be nice to Baga and say that her Snatch Game was the first time she has ever made me laugh.

Blu's Austin Powers was basic AF. Her Dr Evil was a bit better.
Pangina deserved a pass for that runway plus her frankly UNCANNY embodiment of Mariah's physicality, even if the jokes weren't there.
Baga did a very good job of reciting all the famous lines from Misery :)
Jujubee is actively annoying me now. That half-arsed Cher was beyond lazy and once again she looked like absolute shit on the runway. She just isn't trying.
Janey was clearly the worst. I like her a lot and I'm glad she got another week, but if it really was between her and Pangina she was the clear choice to cut.

Jujubee's runway was pretty clever, though it did need a bit of a boost.

Janey is the bottom of the pack and really should have gone this week.

Janey was bottom this week but overall she's been one of the strongest performers of the season IMO, and I LOVE having her Dutch bluntness in the mix during workroom conversations.

I think she's actually my favourite one left.

Having been familiar with Blu for a long time back home, I'd always thought she was a great performer, and her looks and make-up are incredible, so she was always the natural choice of Northern Irish queens for Drag Race UK.

The problem is that it's a TV show that requires a personality, and Blu either didn't have one, or didn't have one that translates well in that format, so she leant on a load of "Drag Race-isms" and just aped what she thought a Drag Race queen should be based on her having grown up with the US show (I'd imagine there'll be more and more of that coming through sadly).

She's got more confidence now, but unfortunately the Drag Race-isms have remained combined with her playing up the elements of her personality that really seemed to appeal to Ru last time for some reason (being a "dirty bitch" for example even though it's all slightly forced). So yes she totally did what she did last night thinking she was creating a moment. She absolutely DID - just not for the reasons she thought!

I will say her Austin Powers was considerably better than her Mary Berry - she was uncharacteristically quick and great at playing off Ru, which there was absolutely none of first time around, almost to the point where I was suspicious about her being helped out a bit by the edit.

The thing is, Blu's at her funniest when she's being a shit-stirring little fuck. If she wanted to do an actually good Snatch Game she should lean into THAT, but hey, I guess she won so 🤷‍♂️

this train has completely derailed. production probably lives for this type of thing but i prefer watching the best drags competing rather than shock eliminations. why else put pangina in the bottom? that's right, all-star rules are stupid.

i liked blu's snatch game most, the rest were various shades of underwhelming or shit. she invariably looks bad to me though - nothing about her aesthetic is appealing, it's child-like and crafty.

i would have more sympathy for pangina if she hadn't done the exact thing to jimbo the previous week. her breakdown was more trauma porn in my eyes - it felt gross especially with ru "letting the music play" with her still wailing in the background. yes, she should probably get a grip it's a tv show, but it felt like it was coming from an honest place and they exploited it for the lolz.

the remaining queens have not shown anything deserving. baga has been absolutely dreadful, juju has been lazy, mo has been mia, blu has a lot to grow, janey has been very underwhelming.

bring back jimbo. (and maybe lemon and pangina)

Pangina's reaction was par for the course with what I remember from Drag Race Thailan Debut Season. The way her cries were used almost felt culturally insensitive (am i being a concern troll here?), which would be massive first for the show of course. To me I was more in awe of what the show thinks they are pulling over our eyes. Anyway, that even Juju looked a million dollars compared to Baga's Charity Shop Lynne Perrie was another element of yet more nonsense. Now, had it been Start Without You...

What an episode this will be to revisit. It was quite gobsmacking for reasons good and bad. I thought Baga was almost, but not quite, a tour de force in Snatch (the being up to speed on the book moment being my second favourite only behind the look she gave when Blu seemed to be on an unexpected wave - I thought they massively coasted, but did very well with the badge line). Mo must have had him planned all along - it was just too fully realized.

Mo was definitely 2nd in Snatch and in runway was dazzling (at least comparatively). The crown surely will be theirs - unless they can make it a hatrick of the most worthy winner being eliminated, which I almost hope does happen simply to watch a car crash. Heaven forbid we just enjoy The Drag.

Sidebar: surprised "what a big slot you have" wasn't one of their barbed lines.

i agree with my gurl tpp. i don't care for this kind of drama and i hate the idea that by eliminating the front runners you're 'beating' the best. i'd much rather see what jimbo and pangina have to offer than blu and baga tbh.

The more this goes on the more I think Lemon had a lucky escape and can distance herself from this steaming turd

I think the episodes have been very good; it's just that the elimination order is messy. I'll be interested to see how entertaining it is without Pangina and her weekly masterclass though.

Certainly not among the worst seasons.

Blu's snatch game character choice was a bit upsetting but she undeniably did as well as she could have with it.

Oh the whole thing has just been a bit odd really. It's not like the entertainment has been lacking, and the International Allstars concept is such a good one (to be honest I think all the Allstars seasons should be international nowadays, it would give it a much needed kick up the arse), but it's a shame we're getting it for the first time on the BBC. It means we're getting such a weird mish mash of queens. A-listers from the lesser known franchises competing with THREE from our ropey first season and a couple of tired American ones.

Couple that with the awful format then what will it actually mean to win this? I'm sure whoever does win will be dining out on being the "best drag queen in the world" when really they've just beaten 8 other people who happened to be available and managed not to be arbitrarily given the boot.

They should treat this as the 'All Stars 1' of the concept, and really rethink it for next time they try it - just grafting the existing All Stars format onto it doesn't feel like a good fit, and there should be a prize befitting the supposed stakes of the contest.
