Interesting that Paul Rutherford was absent from the Power of Love performance. I guess his hi-NRG dancing wasn't necessary for said performance.
She's now married to the one out of the KLF that isn't Bill Drummond.Kala would hate this episode = no women so far. Apart the debatable thing at the back of the Thompson Twins.
And we get Relax. What changed in 9 months that suddenly it was acceptable before the Queen was on?
I love a shit pop connection. She's now married to the one out of the KLF that isn't Bill Drummond.
Alas I was 3 at the time. It seemed like an exciting pop era to live through. They gave in. Basically.

He's doing Shape Of You on Xmas day and Galway Girl on NYE. It's bad enough. We can only hope that the BBC don't go with a triple Ed performance on Xmas TOTP this year.
I've COMPLETELY lost track of what I've seen and not now. The Yesterday channel has been showing loads of old episodes as well as BBC4 repeating lots of their 'specials' as well.
Well that Christmas special with the old Paije Richardson, Lenny Henry, was like the PLAYLIST FROM HELL save for Bronski Beat & Bananarama.
So excited for 1985!
It seems odd that I'd even notice but I swear the Flying Pickets have had a line up change since they were on 12 months prior.

Duran's initial run of singles before the line-up change is pretty amazing and has aged very well. They just had better songs than Spandau, partly because they had more songwriters in the band.
I don't really like You Take Me Up either but I can see why it was such a big hit.I like a few Thompson Twins tunes but this isn't one of them.
Yeah, I'd go with that. It's their more sombre moments that have survived...Sister Of Mercy, Kamikaze, Lay Your Hands On Me...I quite liked Thompson Twins at the time, but don't think they have aged well at all. It all looks (and sometimes sounds) a little cheap and gimmicky.
