How are you likely to vote?

I will say as a policy wonk, I always encourage people to actually look at the manifestos when they come out before concluding that Labour are offering exactly the same as the Tories on every front. I’m not exactly enamoured by Starmer’s Labour either but it does frustrate me when people jump to the “Just a Tory in a red rosette” bit … there will be crucial differences in the policy detail.

There will be differences but we have a seat-by-seat system and some Labour candidates are same difference, pursuing the same ruinous agendas.

Pathetic. Your attitude is exactly why Labour have been able to shift from the centre left to the centre right because the response is "well, do you want a Tory instead?". At this rate, voting Labour will get you a Tory in some of the seats where they win because Labour are fielding a centre right candidate. Where the choice in that? Same future, different rosette.

This, I think, is one of the (many) unfortunate consequences of the last five years and why this GE may feel a bit hopeless. On many issues, it's difficult to gauge where dislike of Tory policy is conflated with dislike of the Tories and how they've conducted themselves. There are probably a few examples - austerity and public services, mostly - where people can now see the damage that's been inflicted. But on many other things, I'm not wholly convinced there's a real hunger for anything more than to have a more respectable party driving in broadly the same direction. I think @Tetris-Rock is right, though. Hopefully, the manifestos will provide more optimism rather than everyone shouting at each other in soundbites and top-line terms.

I've only just noticed that my constituency STILL doesn't have a conservative candidate. This is a constituency where the Tories got 17000 (37%) last time.

That's INSANE!

Almost as bad as importing 2 thirds of our cheese.

Even Bristol Central where they are polling 4.2% and have a 0% chance of winning they announced their candidate yesterday. You'd think they would be on it in a seat they hold out some hope of still winning in!

It got down to three but one wants a ceasefire in Gaza, one supports trans people and the other is a convicted sex offender. The convicted sex offender is the only one still in the running.

She needs to be first in line for National Service. A year of cleaning commodes should teach her some manners, etc. etc.

I'm so glad that this is what he's remembered for - getting milkshakes thrown over him. May it happen everywhere he goes.

Pathetic. I know candidates can't be seen to endorse it, but some DIGNIFIED SILENCE please.

At least we can count on Yvette Cooper to hold Farage to account for his spiteful anti-refugee rhetoric through democratic means...

I'm sorry I can't support her. She drinks BANANA milkshake.

Unless of course she chose it only to put over him, in which case, well done.

I'd have gone for chocolate, but banana seems to be the tradition now, so I can't blame her.

It’s a stupid thing to do and it will only make him more popular.
If it was someone without his profile, I'd understand this. But isn't anyone who is likely to vote for him going to vote for him anyway?
