Alright, now I’ve learned the Conservative incumbent in Clacton, Giles Watling, starred in the sitcom Bread and featured as the character Major Twistleton-Smythe in an episode of ‘Allo ‘Allo. His dad and sister also starred in the early series of Doctor Who. Has Farage bit off more than he can chew?

Lots and lots of marginals too. Tories winning by 1-2%. Doesn’t rule out the more outlandish projections with more tactical voting %

I can’t believe Tatton is at risk. It took the combined efforts of a Neil Hamilton bribery scandal and every opposition party uniting behind Martin Bell to get rid of the Tory last.
 
Car crash interview with Farage on the BBC. Turns into a petty little argument. It all started with the point the presenter was making that Farage had stood 7 times, which he denied.

It will be Labour's own fault if they don't take those seats in the first cluster. Stop blaming the people Labour are bullying or slinging under the buss for a potentially limited perfomance in key marginals.
 
He'll fucking hate Clacton. With love it's an absolute shit hole, with some of the rankest people in the country.

Good selection of cheap shops mind.

I’m sure the left wing party of their dreams will arrive at some point… in the meantime they can enjoy their delightful Conservative MP
 
In other news, we've already had 5 opinion polls in this campaign with a survey size of 10,000 or more.

The whole of the last campaign we had 2.

My argument is that if you are in a Labour/Tory marginal, and your vote for the green is why the Tory wins, that's absolutely fine when a Labour majority is just a matter of how big.

I'd obvs rather that Labour was losing seats to parties to it's left rather than it's right, but I i wouldn't let it stop me if I was English from voting Green or independent. And Labour having a slimmer majority is a bonus too, I don't like majority governments.

Pathetic. Your attitude is exactly why Labour have been able to shift from the centre left to the centre right because the response is "well, do you want a Tory instead?". At this rate, voting Labour will get you a Tory in some of the seats where they win because Labour are fielding a centre right candidate. Where the choice in that? Same future, different rosette.

The thing I will accept is that living in Scotland does put me in a different position because we have some actual choice, which Labour hates, of course. If I lived in England....well, I'd have left at some point in the last 5 years anyway.
 
The arrogance of both Labour and the Tories is a source of continual disgust to me. Their behaviour in Scotland has been vile since 2014, a major reason why the SNP experienced such a boost, one which is inevitably wavering because every bubble bursts. Watching the Tories squirm over having to deal with some genuine competition in Reform is delightful, especially because Johnson screwing over Farage has now completely backfired and could potentially leave the Tories squeezed out - if Reform have the far right, Labour have the centre right and the Lib Dems have the centre, what are the Tories even for?
