I will be doing an all nighter but will not be booking the friday off. PRAY FOR MEI have booked the 5th off! Who else is doing an ALL-NIGHTER?
There are way too many conservative banners on the island for my liking. Not that I'm at all surprised.
From comments and posts I've seen on island FB groups, I can't see Labour getting on on my side of the island, but potentially they will on my shops side.
Ooohh ok! I'd never have thought that based on some of the people that live here. That's positive tho.Electoral calculus says: 72% chance of Labour win on IoW East, 74% on IoW West.
That’s because the Tories love to talk about this stuff. Mostly whilst bleating about how they are being silenced by an elitist, left wing conspiracy.Ooohh ok! I'd never have thought that based on some of the people that live here. That's positive tho.

Thursday's actually my last day at my current job* so I get to check out and then stay up and watch it all unfold.
*No, I am not a Tory MP
I’ve got to be at Crystal Palace at 2pm on the Friday![]()
A pal posed a question this morning. This incarnation of The Labour Party is absolutely diabolical - petty, craven, vindictive, neoliberal wankers. Is that despite the fact that we've had the worst incarnation of the Conservative Party ever or is it because of that fact? Have the Tories, from the coalition forwards, peaking with Johnson and Truss, made politics such a squalid place to be that only certain people are now attracted to it - the squalid and those who know they can survive in an amoral abyss (hence members of Gomez and Blur, people who came out of the major label music industry)?
I think you misunderstand. Our expectation is rock bottom, we're just also very angry about that, and rightly want and demand betterI think my expectations for politicians is a lot lower than many moopers hope for and expect
I'm thinking more about the people who will form their new intake, are being parachuted into 'safe' seats. A shadow cabinet will usually be established figures who have performed well in more junior roles and do well on camera but what will things look like in 2029? What culture are they building?I don't necessarily agree with your premise, but specifically to the point: Nearly all of the labour shadow cabinet became MPs before Johnson or Truss. And the majority are from 2010 or before.
So it's doubtful they became interested in politics during the worst of our times.
