The UK: The Keir Starmer years (2 Viewers)

I see that Wes Streeting and Shabana Mahmood have both said that they will be voting against the Assisted Dying Bill, in spite of Cabinet having been instructed not to campaign for either side. Presumably, based on the precedent that Starmer has set, they will both now be sacked and probably suspended from the party.

Wes Streeting. Honestly, there are actually Tories I hate less. Which makes sense because he really is a Tory, just in a red tie.

Here we go :disco:

The Daily Fail: SHE IS BANKRUPTING US! USELESS GOVERMENT! WE’RE A THIRD WORLD NATION! THEY’RE GIVING OUR MONEY TO IMMIGRANTS!

Normal people: She hasn’t started talking yet.

The Daily Fail: SACK THEM ALL!!!!!

Why are the Tory’s so bunched up? There’s none of them left.

I could do without the employer national insurance going up 2 days before my salary review.

:hostage:

In headline form, it feels quite...Labour? Like, not completely Tory-lite?

At work so can't follow in full, in case anyone is about to jump in about a tax on dungarees and rainbows or whatever.

My only complaint (beyond the really ideological PROPER WEALTH TAXES NOW) is that she's not got rid of the fuel duty freeze.

TAX EVIL DRIVERS!

Almost as if all the THEY’RE JUST RED TORIES!!!! hysteria was completely overstated from the start.

I have a lot of problems with how the first few months of this government has gone, but a lot of it is much more down to messaging than the substance of what they're delivering.

It's not overstated at all. They were HIDEOUS in the election campaign. Plus they still have Wes Streeting who is basically an AI replica of David Cameron made out of mechanically reclaimed pig scrotums.

The election campaign ended almost four months ago and Wes Streeting (a cunt) is just one minister. This is a decent budget. Tories will hate it.

There's not an awful lot about the budget i didn't like. CGT going up is vastly the correct move, i'm almost surprised they had the balls to put it up as much as they did.

How can it not be overstated when they've just delivered what is in many respects a classic Labour budget?

If they have to spend the next four years talking out of both sides of their mouth to trick idiotic Tories into thinking they're less left wing than they actually are, so be it. I'll look at what they actually deliver.

Which is fine if the net result of their rhetoric doesn't impact on you. When it is impacting your day to day life, you'll feel differently, believe me.

Yes can we please stop Wes Streeting every Labour policy and message. We already have the right wing media to focus on the negatives. Which I’m sure they’ll do for this budget very shortly.

I'll stop mentioning how shit Wes Streeting is when he stops being Secretary of State for being shit.

Can someone tell me in simple terms how this will affect a) my shop, b) my personal money?

Cos at the moment, all I know is, it's going to cost my shop more money in wages and national insurance.
