Somebody Else's is lovely. she just has such a warm presence vocally.
 
There have been some Gwen leaks recently such as this reggae inspired song from around 10 years ago. The theme of the lyrics is a bit similar to Baby Don’t Lie so I’m guessing it’s from pre-divorce days. To be honest this stuff gets me way more excited than that country song she put out the other week.

 
Apparently a bunch of demos from the Sweet Escape era have also leaked but I've no idea where one would find them.

It's her YACHT ROCK album :( She's just wearing the hat because she's made her husband her personality.
 
I've listened to and read a few interviews she's done promoting this and I never realised she was so... Jesus-y.

Also she doesn't like Return of Saturn. Sad!
 
I listened to the album and, though it's not groundbreaking in ANY way, it is really LOVELY!

I am glad she's ditched the "silly" songs and settled on a Keane-inspired, Early Winter lite sound. It suits her. The songs are very pretty!

She was going through a difficult time when making it is basically the gist, and reading between the lines much of it is about her ex being a shit (who she then married and had three children with).

Yes, this is how I feel too. It's a lovely little album.

I am a little bit sad she never followed through on the ska sound of 'Let Me Re-Introduce Myself' (with No Doubt preferably) but this sound does feel like it fits better with where she and her audience (fans of The Voice?) are in 2024.

I think thats what she's going for this time. The Mums that watched her on The Voice. She was flogging it in person/ON SCREEN on some US QVC type channel on release day.

Thank you! For saying it outloud. I mean the cowboy boots, the stetson, the country music camoflauged as ”yacht rock”. :zombie: This is so sad. Hopefully the Stepford Wife era is over after this one and she goes back to No Doubt for a change.
 
I mean I get that cultural appropriation is a bad thing BUT Gwen and Fergie really need to do some minor appropriations to get back to pop goodness :D
 
I am really loving the album! I've pretty much had it on repeat. It's very much easy listening, so you have to like that sort of thing... But not a single duff track.
 
I’d figure she could’ve easily gone top 10/20 with variants, assuming there were any. Obviously the streams were in the gutter.
 
Has she done promo for it? Not that, that excuses it not charting. Wonder will she come over & give it a push in the New Year.
