Will Trump join Biden in leaving the presidential race?

From "ONLY GOD CAN KEEP ME FROM RUNNING" to "Well if I get sick" to "WHOOPS I GOT SICK" in the space of a few days, it does rather seem like the groundwork for a dignified(ish) resignation is being laid...

At this point I’d be shocked if he doesn’t drop out. The narrative is just so against him at this point

Trump is of course also wildly hated and the Republican Party continues to do everything to alienate normal people

I'm probably clinging to optimism again, but I do think if Biden steps down, having made a lot of noise about not wanting to, it should hopefully reflect well on him and the Democrats overall.

You know Trump could be a brain in a wig in a jar and he'd still insist he was the rightful President until the bitter end.

Biden may as well call it quits and just let whatever happen, happen.

That Vance guy just keeps saying more and more off the wall shit so hopefully that turns enough people off

Any objection to either combining this thread and the election thread or closing one of them? They are so similar, I can’t even figure out how to sort posts between them, per @AGinAg (39)’s request

The fact I didn’t even see this post and just posted ANOTHER thread.

State governments will sue the federal government into oblivion if it tries a nationwide abortion ban, resting on the very same judicial precedent set by the repeal of Roe v. Wade.

In Dobbs v. Jackson, virtually all of the concurring judges used the argument that abortion is not a constitutional right, therefore it should be reverted back to individual states. Just a little snippet from Kavanaugh's argument:

...the Constitution is therefore neither pro-life nor pro-choice. The Constitution is neutral and leaves the issue for the people and their elected representatives to resolve through the democratic process in the States or Congress.

If the federal government doesn't have the constitutional authority to permit nationwide abortion rights, then by the same token it doesn't have the constitutional authority to forbid nationwide abortion rights either.
