Melodifestivalen 2022: Deltävling 3 - Avicii Arena (again)

Lancelot sounds interesting. Definitely my favourite from the clips. None of the others are doing it for me.

This feels like a very competitive heat - could the older demographic vote have enough to haul Linda through? It paid off for Charlotte.
There is A LOT of competition for the older vote this week…

1. Linda Bengtzing (LIFE CHANGING :disco:)
2. Cazzi Opeia
3. Tribe Friday (Feels VERY 2007.. I quite like it :D)
4. Lisa Miskovsky
5. Faith Kakembo (why is she rehashing the song she failed with two years ago?!?)
6. Anders Bagge (EVEN WORSE than I feared! Those lyrics :manson:)
7. Lancelot (It really will be the WORST YEAR EVER if Sweden send THAT)

Schlagerprofilerna review Linda's rehearsal :disco: :disco: :disco:

God, how fantastic! Schlager is BACK! Hail Linda!

Say what you will about Linda Bengtzing, but she is NEVER without energy. Here she burns through a three-minute cardio session and manages to dance on two different stages before running out to a third (which we've never seen before) plus a lap of honour in which she high-fives the crowd. All in a beautiful orange explosion of a dress, designed by our favourite Sebastian Löjdkvist - who we hope has some scissors handy on the night, as with all her manic running and jumping around, Linda is surely at high risk of getting caught on something.

We said just yesterday that this was the best song that Linda had competed with in Melodifestivalen since the last time G:son wrote for her (E det fel på mig), and the feeling absolutely remains after this first rehearsal. With a little help from Myra Granberg, he has managed to recapture the unique Linda-sound that we missed for her last three entries, which is served well here in an explosive and colourful stage show. Where Jessica Andersson's Party Voice tried for sophistication, Fyrfaldigt Hurra is simply an energy bomb with Linda and her four dancers all klad in orange - perhaps a little nod to Alla Flickor? - and pink, with a huge firework show projected over the LED behind them.

Of course we love this. We will not dwell on that. And after a competition that despite the best efforts of Cazzi Opeia and Tribe Friday feels quite sleepy, this is like a shot of espresso straight into the blood. On the other hand, we also know that Linda has had a lot of chances in recent years and that TV viewers may have grown tired of her for that very reason, so we are not quite ready to shout FINAL! But if there is any justice in the world, Sweden will at least take her to the semifinals. Both she and this great hit deserve it.

I thought the clip was VERY Alla Flickor. There's a bit that sounds just like the intro to the AF chorus...

I can’t wait to hear this on Saturday :disco:

But it is as good as Helena Paparizou’s “Survivor”?

Sorry but the different psychological tactics to get votes is sending me

So excited to see this orange explosion on Saturday! The song sounds like a good fit too.

Cazzi and Lisa are both very promising. I really liked Crying Rivers but Faith's song sounds super generic and dull from the clip.

Anders can stay in his apple tree thank you very much. Lance sounds like the expected snoozefest, please let him be a tuneless charisma void.

REHEARSAL RANKING

1. L-Beng: Tha gayest thing I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen @Beverley try to operate a power drill :disco:
2. Tribe Friday: This is the sort of thing I LOVE, but I’ll not get too attached :(
3. Lisa: I feel like this has too much personality to fail
4. Anders: Looks a bit cheap but the song is INSANE
5. Cazzi: Very watchable but will get lost in the chaos that follows
6. Faith: Dull but I like her as a person
7. Prancelot: If he had any less charisma he’d be a courgette

LOL at how cheap Anders looks. If you want to look good with that kind of background, you don't constantly do camera shots that show off that it's just a screensaver someone left on behind you?

At least make it a dynamic screensaver, like that DVD one that bounces off the corners and changes colours.

Linda really does objectively feel far and away the best performance there. I'm going to be so angry tomorrow :D /:(

For such a HOT FAVOURITE, Anders is not exactly overburdened with stage presence, is he?
Linda is absolutely head and shoulders above from those clips. And this is me saying that about a heat which also features an indie band, country pop and an old man with three minutes of chorus so it’s not even as if I’m biased.

Linda's outfit in motion is something else :disco:

From the clips Bagge's performance and staging stood out as the most obviously shit. The others all seemed reasonably competent at what they were going for (sending gays of Europe to sleep in Lance's case).

I no longer feel as confident about Anders winning the heat after seeing that. Maybe he hasn't conquered his crippling stage fright after all.

Imagine they’ve had this in storage ever since Ulrik Münter’s last appearance :basil:

Came in here to say "wow, kinda cringeworthy to have Anders Bagge with an Ulrik Munther song AND stage-show"

Anways, ALL HAIL BENGTZING :disco:

Lyckligt slut sounds beautiful from the rehearsal clip. The staging looks perfect for the song.

And I see Cazzi Opeia is a graduate of the Montaigne School of Performing Arts.
