Sure.

Anyone can get followers.

sure, but you don't see the problem with someone with 350k followers who promotes massacres on Israelis?

again, i'm not "shifting focus" from what's happening in Gaza. and fyi i've never voted for a right-wing party in my life.

You've got this incredibly weird perspective that anyone criticising the behaviour of the Israeli government and IDF is somehow endorsing Hamas by not focusing on them at the same time.

It's fucking tiring.

Be that as it may, I do think posters with strong ties to Israel, Palestine, Judaism or Islam need to be treated with empathy and the strength of their emotional reaction seen within the context of events. The reactions of those posters aren’t always going to appear immediately rational to those us with little to no personal stake in this war.

If I was an Israeli or even a Jewish member of Moopy I don’t think I would find this thread a particularly safe space.

I hope that they're still alive, though the sheer extent of the Israeli carpet bombing campaign makes me wonder how likely that is :(

Unprecedented. All this death and all it’s done is make Israel weaker, not stronger. What a colossal waste. Netenyahu has definitely achieved infamy now, though not in the way he was expecting.

A huge part of all this horror literally just comes down to Netanyahu's desperation to stay in power, because the moment he's out he'll be back on trial on the corruption charges that have been haunting him for years.

It's why he allowed his government to get into bed with the absolute worst far right lunatics in Israeli politics.

Netanyahu and the government have repeatedly expressed that Israel has no intention of occupying Gaza or displacing its civilian population but rather dismantling Hamas.

the far-right has little support from Israelis, but their loud hatred is always pushed to the forefront of Israeli narratives which is just wrong, it definitely cements the idea of Israel being a hateful genocidal state.

To be fair they are literally in government, so of course they're going to be at the forefront when conversations about Israel's treatment of the Palestinians comes up. I never said a majority of Israeli citizens support them, but unfortunately enough do that they were in a position to be kingmakers after the last election. And now we're experiencing the consequence of that.

but there are literally seven parties in the government, most of which are bigger than them. i would hardly call them kingmakers. most of their proposals get shut down. the scary part is that this war is going to see them grow exponentially.

The tragic thing is that the way the Israeli demographics look like now means that the far right parties are set to grow more.

Why not support a two state solution then? It doesn’t look good when you’re bombing an area that is officially foreign soil and then at the same time refusing to acknowledge any independence for the people who are dying in harms way.

He’s now even defying America with this shit. What’s he going to do just drive them all out, build a mile high wall around Israel, shut up shop and ignore the rest of the planet for the next 100 years?

No plan, no clue, no mercy, no collaboration, no compromise, no rationale.

He’s a fucking scumbag, sorry. This constant skirting around the facts with “he’s just trying to wipe out Hamas” is so painfully weak and desperate on the part of the IDF.

The overwhelming noise against them is not anti semitism, it’s human decency.

Let me just start by saying you're right about Netanyahu. he's a scumbag, but his days in power are numbered and he'll be gone once the war is over.

The next thing I'll say is I'm all for a two-state solution, but making peace takes courage and as of now I don't think either side has what it takes.

Moreover, you have to be fair and acknolege that most Palestinians are against a two-state soultion and as history shows, their leaders aren't brave enough to go against the public view in that matter.

Now i'm not here to give you history lessons, but let me just remind you all that it was the Palestinian leadership who rejected any and all peace initiatives with Israel.

Early on, there was their initial rejection of the 1947 Un partition plan, which would have granted them a much larger state than the one remaining after Israel’s war of independence.

Later, In 2000, there was Yasser Arafat’s historic rejection of a Clinton-mediated Israeli offer for a Palestinian state with a capital in East Jerusalem, which would have given them 95% of the land in the West Bank, 100% of the Gaza Strip, and even some Israeli land. Israelis also offered the Palestinians control over al-Aqsa and the Dome of the Rock, and the return of many refugees into this new Palestinian state, aided by a massive aid program. The Palestinians said no.

In 2008, Israeli PM Ehud Olmert offered Arafat’s successor as PLO Chairman and PA president Mahmoud Abbas a sweeping peace proposal. Abbas rejected it outright.

Next, the Palestinian leadership rejected the "deal of the Century" which was the latest US proposal, before they had seen it. They also refused to participate in the economic conference held in Bahrain at the end of June 2019 and prevented other Palestinians from participating.

As has been said many times, the Palestinians never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.

For what it's worth I never post things from Jake Shields, he's one of a few prominent right-wing accounts who have done a pro-Palestine pivot recently (see also 'Censored Men' and several others) and he regularly posts unsourced videos like that.
For a bit more on the above, please see this excellent tweet thread that goes into the various far right agitators who are trying to use this situation to push their own agendas:
